so im in the process of putting in a new kenwood radio, first I wired the radio harness on the one that attaches to the kenwood to the male counterpart. Then I took off my panels so I could get access to my radio, after unscrewing my radio to much of my surprise the stock radio only had a single wiring harness coming out of it and it also had the radio cable. This is an issue because all the wires are there but since the kenwood came with 2 wiring harnesses, a male and a female, I cant use the harness.
This is where things get confusing. I decide to cut open the stock harness so I can manually attach the wires and crimp them. after getting the black ground on the radio to the brown ground on the runner I attach the yellow constant to a blue constant to the battery, all the speakers match up and I tested them but once I started trying to hook up the ignition wire to the supposed wire it wouldn't work, so I cut a piece of wire long enough to touch the 12v constant to the battery to test if the radio would even work. It was flashing red(its the color of the radio so im just assuming it was on and off) and the CD player on the kenwood was constantly trying to pull in a disc. I took the face plate off and reset the radio then tried it again. The blinking was in much longer intervals and the CD player was no longer cycling. Ive looked every where online and I notice that the limited edition had a different wiring harness then the other base models. After watching several youtube videos the guy on a base model had two wiring harnesses on the back of the stock radio.... If any one could provide a correct wiring diagram id be very appreciative, I have the correct wiring diagram for the kenwood 152. Thank you for your time, im very fed up with this and If I cant figure it out after a few hours im just gonna drop it off at best buy. Any one know what best buy charges for an install?
