Would you buy another one ?

Are you ready for the maintenance commitment to keep a black 4runner? Some days I wish I got a different color, but I know if I got anything other than black that I would have regretted it.

I already have a black car - GX470, but I do not go crazy over the paint, or gloss, or hand-washing it every other day!!!. Car wash once or twice a month, wax once or twice a year. Granted, it looks great afterward, but not great enough to make me wanna do it every week. :biggrin2:

To me it will depend on what we are paying for gas in the next 5 years since under $5/gal might never exist again and my plan will be to keep my 3rd gen or buy a used '06 or so and keep it for weekends and drive something that get 35mpg as my daily ride.

Just wondering with some of the issues that have cropped up ( on some ) if you had to do it all over again and buy a 4R or another Toyota ?

It kind of seems like Toyota is focusing on being number one in sales and not number 1 in quality anymore. Just my guess from reading stuff on here lately.

I would definitely buy again, assuming the 4Runner is the best fit for the intended use. Next vehicle we replace will likely be the 1997 Camry, but it's still going strong and there's no immediate need to replace it. But when it comes time, we will do as we always have -- figure out what we need, what we want, and what we are willing to spend, then do the research to find the best vehicle that matches.

This is my second 4Runner. Previously I owned a 2nd Gen.

I love these trucks and will keep this one as long as I can. And definitely will buy another 4Runner. However, I am tempted to purchase the FJ Cruiser. Would be nice to have a 4Runner and a FJC in the garage!! :bigok:

Without any doubt or hesitation. The refinement combined with the ruggedness, there's no other in SUV that can rival the 4Runner in its class.

Whatever Toyota decides to do to change up for the next gen, a Tundra CrewMax is always an alternative.

If the 5th generation 4Runner has the features I want at a reasonable price I would buy one.
If not, I will hold on to my current 4Runner until the wheels fall off.
One can only hope that Toyota is smart enough to realize that their current engine offerings
for the 4Runner are simply not good enough for the next generation when it comes to MPG.

I just don't want to see it put on a car frame, and become just like all the other SUV's out there.

I like how it is now, has all the fancy options etc, but it's still tough enough to take off road.
