If not, I thought I read if the silicone green thing falls apart some people have painted it with model paint?

Good to know the one is the soldered LED and only works when on. it does work so GTG on that.

Yes. I would highly recommend the NEO-3s from VLEDs rather than the SuperBrightLEDs. The ones I got from SBL never quite fit right, didn't light very evenly, and would intermittently cut out. The VLED ones have been perfect since.

I just installed SBL NEO3s and 4s in the auto climate control. You now have me wondering if I should have purchased the VLED ones. I need to purchase a new center trim/bezel, and once I get one, the plan to was put everything back together. I very much would prefer to not have to remove that plastic surround again, possibly breaking another...

Anyone else have issues with SBL NEO bulbs?

About 1.5 years, in a daily driver... Likely more use than we'll see in several years.

I'm going to stay with the SBLs.

I use the SBL 4s a lot and have very little problem with them. The 3s however seem to fit a little loose in the socket though. I usually put a little epoxy on them to hold them in. I only use the 3s from SBL for red and amber because they are by far the least requested color. I get the other colors in bulk from amazon from a place called CCIYU. Every once in a while I get bad ones from them(got a few bad ones from SBL also)

I have a 2000 SR5 4 Runner that the heat and a/c lights are out. Are there bulbs to replace or should I check a fuse?

First I pulled up the bulb "wires" on the contact side so they make better contact. I made sure I knew the correct position of the LED first so when I inserted the LED I wouldn't have to twist them out again to put them in 180 and flatten out the wires again. Then I just put the epoxy around the edge on the flat side.

lol. I guess I shoulda been more specific. I've never seen bulbs referenced by millimeters before. Is this some standard vernacular in the bulb biz?

Also, this chart seems to call for the same #74 bulb for all climate control bulbs when you have previously indicated there are two different ones in there, one for the buttons and one for the display. What's up with that?

The mm represents the size of the "hole" in the circuit board the NEO wedge bulb go into.

I think the 74#s go in the temp control unit in all but the 99-02 Limited models which are auto climate control. You obviously have a 99-02 Limited 4Runner.

I would replace both those bulbs if I were in there. I'll bet once you snap it all together you may break the filament in those bulbs. Not sure which one of these is the "tall" bulb. Less than $5 each from Camelback (shipping will probably be more)

The other "bulb" is an LED. Would be highly surprised if that was out. Only comes on when you press the button on.

I just got these from the dealer and they do have the green covers on them. when it warms up i'm doing the swap out. don't want a cracked surround trying to pry it off. thought i'd let y'all know.

Sorry for reviving an old thread but I want to clarify I have all the right bulbs before I order.
I have a 1999 SR5 with manual climate controls.
For the main gauges, #24 is required or will a different bulb size fit?
I am also going to get the NEO wedge bulbs from VLED like suggested for a better fit.
Also, for the PRNDL can these be changed to LED or do they require OEM? My D light is out.
