WTB: Clean 2nd Gen 4Runner

Hey everybody,

I just finished building my dream Toyota 4x4.... Its a 1995 Supercharged 3.4 converted automatic, custom built gear-driven T-case, with full ARB suspension all around, and many more modifications in the pipeline. The conversion was finished on Friday, I slapped brand new 33 inch BFG's on it, enjoyed her for 2 days, driving her in the snow and up fire roads (totally blown away by the power, torque, smoothness, raw acceleration, and true offroad capability) then yesterday, on my way to work, this dumb idiot rear ended me, while I was off on the side of the road completely STOPPED as I reassessed icy conditions, thus causing me to have a rollover crash off a 10 foot rock ledge.

Needless to say, I'm grateful to have survived. I have broken ribs on both sides of my chest from the impact of the seatbelt, a damaged sternum, bumped head, and dislocated shoulder. The woman who hit me however, probably has a broken neck.

My "brand new" truck, is a goner :(

The good news:

It appears that 95% of my conversion parts are in tact, and I'm looking to re-do this swap into another automatic 2nd gen 4Runner. And if insurance plays ball, as it should once I get my lawyer to kick some ass, I'm going to reawaken the Phoenix, so to speak.

If anybody knows of any super clean 2nd gens out there, I'm all ears! Seriously... If I can find a mega clean black 1995 Automatic 4x4 Runner, my swap can be done in a week or less. Its already been done!

Last week, at TorFab in Everett Washington, putting out nearly 260 horsepower. GAAAWD, words cannot describe how FAST and fun this truck was:

Supercharged and fuel modified 3.4 conversion:

And now, absolutely ****ing HEARTBROKEN because of some DUMB IDIOT'S bad driving:

Thanks a ton everybody,

Russell

Oh man, that really sucks. That's one of my favorite colors too.

I look for clean 2nd gens every day, but they all seem to be in the south. How far out from your location are you looking?

where in north bend did that happen? I heard about the roll over trucker, but that happens to often. GLAD YOURE OK! But man what a bummer after just finishing your project. people suck

Thanks guys. Yeah, I've been feeling really, really bummed out this week... Stoked to not just be alive, but to be "mostly" healthy...I'm going to have back pain for a while I can tell.

This accident happened on the May Valley Road, in Issaquah, just about a block from my house! Its always close to home that accidents happen, I hear.

I've been looking at 2 gens as far away as Boise Idaho, but willing to go further if I find that diamond! I've decided that I really just need to focus on getting the insurance to understand the true value of this rig, and then rebuild her.

I can't explain it....There is something about the 2nd gen 4Runners that just stokes me out. I love the 1st gens too, but not quite as much as the seconds! The 3rd gens are nice too, but I tell ya.. With that Supercharged 3.4 on this body style, this was a FAAST truck. Rather unbelievable actually. It wanted to pull at 85mph up the I-90 pass without even flinching at 3500rpm.

I'm going to miss her until I can rebirth her!
