Started buying some stuff for my 4Runner so I thought I'd start my own build thread. Don't expect any radical build, this is my daily driver. It won't see any hard core off-roading, just the occasional groomed dirt path or drive on beach.
So far the only thing I've done to it is to install my Weathertech floor liners and cargo mat. I have a ClearBra kit for the hood/fenders/mirrors that I was hoping to install this weekend but the weather didn't cooperate. I also have a Blackvue Dash Cam from my FJ that I have to figure out how to install. It has front and back camera's and I need to figure out how to run the wires and where to mount the rear camera. I also need to get a new windshield mount as the one in the FJ wouldn't come off.
On order I have the TRD Pro Suspension kit (ordered as part of the purchase) and SCS Stealth 6 wheels in the matte gunmetal/machined finish. I'm still deciding on what tires to get but I'm leaning to BFG KO2's in the stock size but C load rating. I was considering running two sets of wheels, one with street tires and the other with a trail/winter tread but I'm not sure I want to go that route now. The added expense of buying two sets of tires and then having to switch them all the time just seems like more of a hassle.
I'll keep updating this thread as things come in and get installed and post my impressions/reviews on them.
So far I'm loving this truck, had the sunroof open, windows down, and the rear window down as it's sunny and 70 degrees here today. Not quite the same as taking the top out of my Vette but still very enjoyable. Looking forward to keeping this truck for a long time and doing lots of things with it. :driving:
