XM Radio

I second the smart phone + Pandora idea. No commercials with mobile Pandora. :)

As for XM, I had it in my old truck for 4 years. Combined with the commute and the internet player at work, it was fantastic. But I favor Pandora now as it saves $$$ and works (for me) just the same.
 
The XM music service is worth the money, but don't get the Nav/Traffic - Its useless and doesn't work worth a sh!t. I'm not even sure your area - Knoxville - is covered.
 
Mine didn't get turned off on the exact date the letter said it would but then again I renewed it for 3 months a couple days later so I wouldn't have to pay the reconnection fee. I had a very nice / helpful / patient customer service person. I will post her name and extension number when I get home. I love my XM and it's very nice to be able to pick a station and have it on a long drive. I have a 10 hour drive coming up that will be done all in one day, I usually hate the drive but this year I am looking forward to it!
 
Thanks for the reminder. Mine's due to expire at end of month. I dread the interaction with XM customer service....

Please do post this info. For me, customer service quality is a dealbreaker, but if I know I can call a specific customer service person that is helpful and kind to help me with my issues then I will sign up for it.
 
CR@P!! I just realized something...

when I switch out my stock HU for the pioneer nav in a few weeks, will i lose my 90-day free XM subscription?? or can I have the remainder transferred over to my new nav unit?
 
Mine too about a week after the 'cut off date' to stop working. Called up last night, told them I do not spend much time in the 4R to enjoy it, got a 'promotional offer' - 5 Months for $20. Will see what they have to offer at the end of the 5 :)
 
Anyone know what they are offering a Lifetime subscription for (I'm interesting in the mostly music package)? Their web site only lists monthly, quarterly, and annual rates.

When I called Lifetime could not be assigned to Factory radio ESN, However, if you have an aftermarket radio or receiver you are good to go for Lifetime (I think the price was somewhere between ($350-$450)

I was told last week that there was a $390 lifetime subscription for my 4runner. That is music only.

Was the Lifetime transferable? Did the XM rep know if the ESN was stock radio or not? I am just trying to get ot the bottom of the "No Lifetime for factory radio" that the XM rep could not explain.

Not sure about the transferable, but the rep knew that it was the stock radio in my 4runner limited. Ive not check back cause ive got about 60 days left for free. Ive used the iphone pandora radio app. with bluetooth and im not sure if i will get xm. The pandora app. rocks!
 
For everything bad I said about XM. Sirius is much worse. All I wanted was to remove the best of XM programming from my Sirius subscription and this is what my account looks like. At the end of the day they still did not remove The Best of XM and I am on the phome with Sirius as I speak. I really should cancel all subscriptions but there are no other alternatives!

Important note... I called XM yesterday because my 3-months free was about to Expire and if you mention it, they will give you 5 months for $20.

$4 a month isnt so bad!
 
Just renewed my subscription and got 15 months XM + NAV Traffic for $137.00 or $9.13 per month. Renewal notice I got in the mail offered XM only for $142.45/yr. I pointed them to my call history and they gave me the deal.....

But wait... my paranoia with XM is such that I called them back to confirm my order. After holding for 20 or so minutes, I am connected with someone that says they have no record of my previous call and therefore could not provide the offer previously given me. So basically I'm stuck with $142.45 XM Everything win NO, repeat NO, Nav Traffic.

Yes, I had the option to tell them to stick it but as previously mentioned, there are no other alternatives so I'm forced to subscribe. Seriously, someone needs to find a way to come up with a class action suit on XM and Sirius.

Customer Service at its worst!

Sorry for the rant....

When my 3 month trial is up I am going to offer XM $50.00 for a year take it or leave it. I have a bunch of music on my iPod. I got Sirius in my car last November for $70.00 for the year. We'll see how it goes.
 
XM called me early this morning and when I turned them down they offered $24 for 6 months.I guess they try to get you hooked .I'm changing out my Nav soon so wouldn't do me much good.

Seems like good customer service has gone out the window or is it just me. Calling around today to try to buy new suspension . Toytec did'nt have time for tech questions,had the sales lady do it, parts were backordered/out of stock(ICON rear shocks for stage 1 kit) that wasn't updated on the website and they had no clue when they would get them in. She said they don't tell them that! She TELLS me to google "Icon Shocks" and call and ask them.

Demello Offroad on ordering Icon Coilovers -answering machine/left detailed message with call back number........they never even called back .......again.
