Thanks for the input. I too don’t venture out in really nasty stuff much anymore, but think I will try this tape after my next state inspection in August. Any film on a light lens except clear fails inspection. That way it can stay on for a year. Only had the laminx on a few weeks before I went for inspection and got told I would fail unless I removed it on the spot. Balked but was shown the requirement in the inspection book. Even shown where yellow bulbs would fail as not original equipment.

I live in Tidewater Virginia on the Chesapeake Bay and frequent our old fishin’ shack on Hatteras Island near Cape Hatteras. We get lots of fog in early morning both places, and lots of “sea fog” on the island as my location sticks out about 20 miles into the Atlantic, so will likely be able to get a good test in a year.

That sounds like a good plan. BTW, I tried a test with a couple of strips of kapton tape and applying them to a plastic box using the wet method. That is, one applied over a spray of water, the other over soapy water. They are very easy (soapy one the easiest) to slide around and position, and after a short drying time the adhesive sticks the tape to the plastic.
I’m not sure why this works, but it does. It must be the way the silicone adhesive behaves.

If you are looking for a simple bulb swap for the fog light housing, I would go with the Xenon Depot Xtreme LED Pro or the VLEDs Micro Limited.

I applied the LaminX yellow fog covers a few months ago now. I figured for $20 it's worth a shot to see how they look. Pretty happy with the results, took literally a minute to install. I like the fact that it also protects the lense from rock chips as its a pretty thick film. Obviously this does not make them any brighter, but you get a nice yellow color out of the factory LED fogs, and looks great when they are off as well.

I installed Lamin-x when I replaced my halogen fogs with OEM LED fog lights. I applied it before installing the fogs on the vehicle. It’s pretty easy, but take care to smooth it from center outward to work out wrinkles and bubbles. Check out the install video on the Lamin-x site. No need to remove the tabs, just fold and stick them down. The plastic cowling hides them anyway.

I've got those sitting on my desk waiting until I'm not too lazy to go out there and put them on. Any challenges with the install? Did you need to trim off those little tabs or did you tuck those in some place?

I installed mine with the fogs in place. I used a hair dryer to heat it up a bit and make it easier to work with and smooth it out. Work from the center out after you apply it to get any bubbles out, and no I did not have to cut or trim anything, fit perfectly.

If they are the latest Baja SAE fogs, they contain a "fix" that addressed the fact that the lights didn't really meet the SAE standard. Although the fix makes them legal, it significantly cut down on the light output. In fact, it drops it significantly below the current Diode Dynamics SS3 offerings. Just thought I'd offer that up.

I originally did this with my 21 orp. Was happy with the brightness at all compared to my '17 SI with the same yellow tint over some led bulbs. Was at least half the brightness and I was looking for the same. Got the DD ss3 pros and never looked back.

Half the price for a way better product. Diode Dynamics is the way. Youre paying for the brand name with Baja

Contact Baja Designs directly. They will fill you in on how to get it. Be forewarned though. The fix dramatically reduces light output.

I have these as i cant afford the ones i would like to get. Like the dual mode, sometimes i run the yellow, which i prefer and other times the bright white for better road illumination.

I did Lamin-X on mine. Took less than 5 min per side. Did it dry without removing the lights either.
