Yet Another Gun Mount Thread

Anyone mount their daily carry in their suv. :peep: I have a 2015 and would like to have my daily carry (p229) with me (I'm in AZ) in my console or near by. As always I'm here for some inspirational mod thread. I did my searching but I couldn't find any on the 5th gen and only 1 that I kinda liked. Figured I'd ask .

Thank you so much ! I really like that serpa holster on the side. :bravo: happy dance happy dance :bravo: Now to hurry up and wait for that day off !
 
explain to me how putting a EDC in a console makes sense when a carjacker rips your ass from the driver seat? If you are gonna carry, CARRY it. I would only lock my weapon in a vault of some sort if I was going into a place that prohibited me from carrying like a courthouse etc.

[MENTION=81573]Stifler[/MENTION] I agree with what you are saying but say you needed to go to the post office or your employer doesn't permit firearms like you said then you'd still need to keep your edc somewhere. My employer doesn't permit firearms on premises and there is even an hr policy that states obsession with firearms or talking excessively about firearms is an early warning sign that must be documented and followed. (Excessive is very vague and dependent on the individual but that's another story)

right but then why would you want something like a mounted holster for that? I would suggest a console vault.

This has worked for me for the last four years. Kimber .45 Pro Carry II. But this is concealed carry, so make sure you're permitted by the state in which you are traveling to carry this way.

"Oh, you want my car? May I offer you a Kleenex?"
 
Here is how I carry mine. Please note this may not be legal in your state. Please refer to your own States laws. According to Florida statute 790.001 (17), I can carry my firearm in this manner. Here is the statute:

"(17) “Securely encased” means in a glove compartment, whether or not locked; snapped in a holster; in a gun case, whether or not locked; in a zippered gun case; or in a closed box or container which requires a lid or cover to be opened for access."

My Glock is holstered in a leather "snap" holster and held securely in place with one of these:

Additionally, I used about a foot and a half of parachute cord to tie off the holster to the bottom of the dash. This way when (God forbid) it's ever needed, snap pops off with the thumb and the holster comes off during the draw.

And it's more or less not visible unless your really looking for it.
