Hey Houston friends, I'm looking for a shop that can do suspensions on KDSS equipped 4runners. It seems a lot of places won't touch them / don't know how to install something without causing some nature of damage. Does anyone have any recommendations?

A friend installed 6112/5160/rear springs on my KDSS 4R, no real issues other than a torn abs/speed sensor wires during install.

What lift are you going with?
 
I'm going to do the 5100s set at 1.75 and some 1" cornfed rear spacers.

My only concern is the warranty thing but .... Eh that comes with the modding territory

What rear springs did you end up going with? Also, how are you liking the set-up? The 6112/5160 set up is my first choice right now. I'm a little over a year away from pulling the trigger though, so I'm just researching for now.

Cypress 4runner here. Didn't see anyone else from here with a cursory glance through a few pages. There are a handful of modded runners around here though. Subscribing so I don't miss updates. Could use a wrench day soon :P

I grew up in the Cypress area, I'm there all the time. I live in Spring Branch. Ill volunteer my driveway for a garage day. Its not huge but we can fit one lol. I have a mountain of tools and stuff.

Sounds like a plan to me. I have a small collection of tools. I can usually get the job done with some good old fashioned jerry rigging. :P I've got a little suspension work to do since I was stupid and put my bushing and washer on the wrong way on both rear struts lol But I won't have time for at least 2 weeks.

Don't really belong to this crew anymore since I live in KCMO right now for school... but I was wondering if any of yall good folks would like to help me out during Thanksgiving weekend?

I am driving home for the week (will be in town Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and would like to install my shrockworks front bumper on my 5th gen T4R while I am back at home. Since I'm a complete n00b and I don't want to waste an whole day away from family, would anyone like to help me out/guide me so I can go through this process much quicker/easier?

I'll be glad to repay in beer,food, or heck I guess even cash.

The Shrockworks front bumper isn't that hard to install. Just get a few hands to help out with the lifting. If you are installing the winch, that will be the most time consuming part.
Also, do a hardware count before you begin, not only the ones listed on the front page of the instructions but read the instructions and sort the nuts/bolts. every once in a while there is a step that has something not listed anywhere else.

I see so many modded 4runners in the area. Check the HTXT4R Facebook page out if you haven't already. There's meetups happening there fairly often.

mechanic near clear lake

Does anyone know of a good T4R mechanic down south? I just moved here and need to have my 03 inspected and registered. My vsc/vsc trac/check engine light issue needs to be cleared up.
