basically, you need a neo4, t4, whatever bulb that will work at 6v. combine those search terms and hopefully you can find something.

i do not believe so. well, i take that back, i was just thinking it may be possible if you repin the plugs.

remember that the tac may also read different if you mix v6 and v8 clusters/trucks.

try it and let us all know! it is something that i would personally like to do if it works!

EDIT: back when i only did tacoma clusters and didnt have my bench tester, i would plug every cluster into my 05 tacoma and test it before i sent it back. any cluster would plug in just fine, but there were slight differences. for example, i would turn the headlights on on my 05 tacoma, but the 2012 cluster i was working on would light the left turn signal. this is what leads me to believe that a repin may just allow a limited cluster to be swapped into an SR5/sport truck.

I'd like to chime in here. When the other guy did my LEDs originally, he plugged my Limited cluster into his Sport (or SR5, can't remember) and it worked! Had the cluster redone with Yosh and haven't had a problem! Anyway, mind you, we both had 2005 V6s and 4x4. As Yosh alludes to, you better match up the equipment (V6 vs. V8, 4x4 vs. not, 02-04 vs. 05-09 (next generation airbag sensors), Air suspension vs. not). Fleabay is filled with clusters, so be patient if you want to switch to a Limited cluster. One other thing, your mileage will be different. The mileage of our rigs in stored in the cluster so take that for what its worth. In short: I think you can do it, but you would need to match equipment/years, but don't hold me to that.

For the folks dealing with the SR5/Sport cluster, you could always try something like this.

Fluorescent Speedo & Gauge Needle Restoration Paint - HiPo Parts Garage

They have several colors available. This might be the ticket to using white leds and still have blue (or whatever color is available) needles. This is something that I have not tried as my truck is a Limited.

Thanks Cisco, I ordered the blue. Did 3 coats of paint on the back of each needle, and kinda wiped them down after each coat. Will try to explain better later. Good find. I'm happy

Thanks for adding the pic. Yea those are pretty orange. Anyone have any luck repainting the needle red? I'm wondering if with the white light it would be almost pink at night. Maybe painting with a dark red paint would help?

How many terminals do each plcc bulb have? Would love to do this, but would really like to get a good idea as to the difficulty level. Never been a fantastic solderer. 1st gen tacoma was plug and play.

The plcc-2 leds have to be soldered on both ends just like any other soldered LED.

Well, after selling my 2008 Limited, I just couldn't keep the ugly orange cluster in the new to me 2008 Sport. This is white leds and the green needle paint mentioned above.

Can someone help me figure out why I am getting a flashing LED for the driver's window switch?
I have soldered a standard 3mm LED on in place of the existing amber one.

I have also tried some with the resistors built in (12V 3mm) and they also flash.

It is a slow flash - 2 slow flashes with a longer pause in between.

Is there a specific LED that I need for this switch backlight?

Hey Yosh, I got all the LED on the board, but 2 of the LEDs for the odometer won't light. The 2 on the left side are not getting any voltage. Any ideas as to why these aren't getting power? It doesn't look like I've burned anything...

Did you use a multimeter to figure the two were not getting voltage?

I might be wrong, but when I did this mod I noticed it seems that the LEDs are wired in a series kind of arrangement, in the sense that two of them are a part of the same circuit - so if one wasn't soldered on correctly, both of them wouldn't work. (On an 04 Limited)

My ODO was the first place I noticed this, and after reseating one of them, they both came back on!

Yes, I've noticed the same thing. If one isn't working properly it can affect others. I still can't figure out why only 2 of the 3 odo lights work - I may have burned the circuit somehow.
