You know you're a Third Generation 4Runner owner when...[/QUOTE]

...... your service adviser suggests you look at the new Runners in the showroom and then asks to buy yours!

A 30lb bag of dog food plus a 15 lb tool bag is *just enough* wait to let those saggy rear coils show off their saggy-ness.

:faint:

when you realize tinted windows and a cargo cover provide all the privacy necessary for a little curbside nookie with the gfriend in the spacious and comfortably carpeted aft berth.

When everything (including your savings account) is going along just fine, then one day you finally decide you're going to Google how to replace that fog light bulb that's been out forever. Next thing you know, you need LBJs, TREs, a radiator, brakes from a Tundra, antenna from a Tacoma, Tundra wheels, interior LEDs, Husky liners, Wet Okole seat covers, bookmarks to the 3rd gen section on all the computers you use...
DAMN YOU MOTHER F%#@ERS!!!!!

You try to upgrade your 3rd gen halogen headlights, to projector headlights and find out you have to make your own because no one sells those.

when you've owned a 3rd gen for 10 years, and when you decide to get a new car... you get the exact same thing... just with less miles... ;)

..... when you pass another 3rd gen on the road and you say out loud, "oooh, a 3rd gen", even if it's stock, in a tone that makes it sound like they're $100,000 dollar vehicles.

...when you're not sure if you should be in AWD or 4WD.

...when you've got the A/C on and your inner thigh gets cold before the rest of the car does.

...when you sell your '05 Wrangler with 60k miles and buy a '99 4Runner with 225k miles just so that you can liquidate $10k cash that you can then put towards mods...and because it has an e-locker.

...and you daydream to yourself "if I had that 3rd gen I would do [insert mod list]"

When on more than one occasion you go out to your truck and find a door open but nothing is missing inside.... Had it happen in parking lots and in my driveway, I hate that my roommate can't lock the doors. Battery is dead atm cuz someone got into the truck when I was sick and left the passenger rear door open, and tried to take my ashtray pfff...

And when you start giving the specs and color name right after.

Not so sure if that is a 3rd Gen thing...
