Your Thoughts?

So with the limited budget I am working with I am going to slowly start customizing my black 05 SR5 4Runner. My current plans are to tint out the front windows with either 20%-30% tint, black out the tail lights, powder coat the factory rims black, change out some lights and get some HID headlights.

I plan on having a two color scheme going on. Either black and lime green, black and a darker green, or black and blood red. With the powder coated rims I am planning on getting the center circle painted one of those colors, switching out the door and license plate lights with ones that illuminate one of those colors and maybe get the Toyota Symbol outlined in the color I choose.

So what are your opinions on those mods? Me and my buddies think it would look dope but I always like getting other opinions.

Also, is there a way to change out the lights without doing the whole LED mod? I just don't trust myself to screw around with my trucks wiring.

You don't have to mess with any wires to switch to LEDs.

Those colors would definitely be different.

What color is your 4runner?

Sorry about that, the 4Runner is black. So I am planning on going all black except for the green/red lights and the green/red trim and center on the rims.

Around my town there is a 2008 BMW M3 that is white on white with lime green lines on the white rims. Looks so dope. I thought that the lime green would look pretty sick on a black car too but maybe a darker green would be better.

Edit - About the LED lights, I think I got my write-ups mixed up. There is one somewhere on here where the guy dismantles half of his interior and another one where the guy silver solders the LED lights. But they both sounded waayyy outa my league for DIY. Unless its a simple exchange of a light bulb or disconnecting and reconnecting a couple wires I just do not trust myself to do it.

yo man, i'm the poorest thing when it comes to electrical and i changed all my interior lights and wired foot well lights.

i have a blue and white scheme going on, so if you like, i'll get you some pictures of that to give you an idea.

the reason i went blue is because my pioneer head unit has a blue back light...

i say lime green, that'd look so dope - EXCEPT the damn orange gauge lights would make it look like shit - THAT'S A PITA - or so it seems.

How about black and orange (or amber?) Eh, i can understand if you don't like the halloween theme.

the blue and orange blend pretty nice in my rig though.

What write-up did you use? If its something I really could DIY then that would be great. If you have the pics of your rig available then yes, please post them.

I am not a fan of the orange lights either and would love to have them changed to some white LED lights or even go lime green with them too :uzi:. Now that would probably look bad ass.

Hmmm...

For the tubes i just did it myself, ill show you a thread in just a sec.

yeah that would look sick as hell if you could do lime green for the gauge lights but its quite the task... there is a thread on here that some guy did.

I'll get pics of the LEDs in a bit (blue door lights, blue vanity lights, white map dome and trunk lights).

this is the thread with pics of the interior lights (pretty shitty pics, and camera makes them look a little bit brighter) like i said, ima try and get better pics here pretty quick

Neonssss thread

on the second and third page i kind of talk about how the install works, i'd be happy to make clear up any questons you may have.

the led conversion takes like 5 minutes.. so dont worry about that one

.

I think it would look cool ...and unique.

I kinda have the similar idea on the rims....not the same but similar.

Those lights look pretty sick in your car but I think they might be a little too bright for my taste. Are they on all the time or only when the doors are open? Is there a way to control how bright the light is on those set-ups?

I like the idea of just doing the door lights and license plate light cause they are not too noticeable but tie everything in nicely.

I see the car every once in awhile and next time I see it I am going to take a few pictures.
