That looks wicked sweet!

A driving shot. Sorry not the best quality but you can still see how much of an improvement over stock it is. This is low-beams only.

I was in about 320 with shipping for my FX-R setup. And BTW TL projectors are an option for retrofits and are known to be one of the best projectors, but because of their size they are very difficult to install. But that is part of the fun lol!

Those TL lights are stupid bright. I loved them! The high beams were amazing!

Has anyone retrofitted big projectors? Big like Infiniti Q45 or Lexus LS430/460.
I had Q45s retro'd in my 1st-gen Tundra, really liked how they filled the headlight.

I used 2012 Infiniti M37 ballasts, bulbs, shrouds and wiring in my conversion. They were very, very close to not fitting. I sure do love them tho!

so painting the reflectors is supposed to make the light brighter?

I painted mine because I scratched the shit out of the reflector with all the installing, removing and trimming. And then on top of that, I put green painters tape inside the reflector to help. When removing it, it pulled off a lot of the reflective chrome off too.

I've got a quick question. I recently completed my retrofit and did the Mini H1 kit. I have this issue when I turn the headlights on only the right one will come on. I flip them back off and back on and then both will light up. Sometimes I don't have this issue at all. I've noticed that when this happens the ballast will make a "sparking" sound. Think I just got a bad ballast?

Great idea for the thread and thanks for putting it together!

I do want to talk about the point below

Is it okay to install HID bulbs without projectors?
NO! Having HID's in halogen housings is similar to driving around with your brights on all the time. You will be blinding everyone on the road and its just inconsiderate.

I don't agree with this 100%. I do agree that a projector is a much much better way of running a HID bulb but they can be installed in Halogen housings if you do the correct setup.

I ran a 35w Hi/Lo setup with the bulb cutoff sheilds for about 4 years before i did a projector retrofit. Not once did i get flashed and i have been in other vehicles and had my truck behind me and pass me going the opposite way and i never felt like it was overly bright or blinding.

Like i said, A retrofit is a much better way of going but i think the blanket statement of "all HID bulbs in halogen housings are blinding and dangerous" isn't true. As long as you stick to a 35w kit with cutoff sheilds and have your headlights properly aimed, you won't be blinding people.

I guess is should post mine up too
morrimito D2s 5k bulbls. Gatling Shrouds( the big ones) Believe or not, i'm still running the DDM apexicone ballasts/relay i bought when i first did the retrofit a couple years ago! I also wired some LED's into the housings which BTW are the OEM housings

Those last pics look sick MTD!

If anyone is interested in a pair of barely used Phillips OEM bulbs for half off TRS cost please PM me. I have the receipt and they are still under the 2 year warranty.

Here's my set up. 3" eBay projectors, I'm happy with the quality. Dual halo with switchbacks.
