14" TE guys weird noise

so far most of the people who have heard the noise have later build dates. what about the ppl who don't hear the noise? could you ppl post what your build dates were?

Build date 12/13

Thought I was just hearing road noise at first. Then it sounded suspicious. Then I saw this thread!

Heard it before and after my Icon lift.

What are the next steps?

I'd like to get some more feedback from guys with build dates of 2/14 and later before I approach Toyota with this.

So far there have been two people with later build dates that both say they "think" they hear the noise. Earlier build date guys do not "think" they hear it. They hear it.
 
Corrected my build date to 12/13.

Other info:
It doesn't happen every time for me, but does happen during two different types of left hand turns at around 20mph:

- slightly bumpy, semi-sharp

- larger bump, less sharp

I haven't taken any very bumpy, sharp turns at 20mph because, well, that sounds like a stupid thing to do!

Clunk is present on left turns, and occasionally on right turns AND straight bumps! Currently on 5100's and 265 duratracs
 
Sorry I didn't clarify my build date in my earlier post.it is 2/14 with 600 miles.
Very noticeable in left turn ins with a dip.have a friend with a 14 trail with the same noise.i raised it on a lift no visual problems.were both lexus technicians
And have drove some 14 gx models with kdss they do not have the clunk.we will continue to drive the new models as they are delivered.we are thinking the noise is when the fluid pressure is being released from the cylinders in an off camber situation.i will keep everyone posted if I find anything out.

Thanks for the info. I'm not mechanical by any stretch of the imagination but the other day when I made the turn I said to myself maybe it's the KDSS system working. You know like when all the off road systems kick in they a make lot of noise.

Guys, the only place the actual KDSS system, during operation, could make a noise is back in the middle of the vehicle where the valves are being actuated. This noise would be so slight that it would be hard to hear even if you could be right beside it while it's operating.

If you have a noise and it's coming from the left front where the front KDSS cylinder is mounted then it could only be one of two things:

1. The front KDSS cylinder has catastrophically failed and the rod is banging around in the cylinder or
2. You have a mechanical fastener issue whereas the cylinder mount is loose (check around the sway bar/KDSS cylinder connection) or it is rubbing on something.

guys dont worry too much the sys is not failing,at least not yet if you had a
catastiphic failure you would absolutly know it.if we get a slow stretch at work today im gonna call our lexus feild engineer and explain what were hearing.

I have been under and checked all of the bolts possible and everything is tight. She still drives OK the rest of the time, so I have a hard time thinking it because something is loose. The noise I hear is def coming from the front suspension, and is very noticeable.

Also If this was a normal noise for the KDSS, wouldn't we have guys with 10-13's saying that they have heard it and its normal?

I don't know if I have the highest miles on a 14 right now, but to me its only getting worse...

No, KDSS is quiet in it's operation.

Have a look at page 4 of this thread. The parts manager at the dealer I went to confirmed the KDSS cylinder has a different part number for 2014. Could be for a number of different (and possibly irrelevant) reasons, but it could explain why 2010-13's aren't making the noise.
 
mine def comes from the front driver it seems?

sounds like something is loose everytime i go over a bump, pretty annoying hopefully we can come up with a solution
