1998 4runner v6 - blocked radiator

My runner failed smog, troubleshooting has revealed a blocked radiator. Is this a common problem for 98 4runners? The vehicle only has 77k on it. The temp gauge doesn't indicate that it's running hot, maybe it's only partially blocked?
The smog test failed for NOX at low speed.

Just curious if this is a known problem with this gen 4runner.

What makes you think it has a "blocked radiator"?

The tank on top of the radiator is HOT, 3/4 of the down the radiator the grill is only warm to the touch - as well as the hose ( bottom hose ) coming from the radiator to the block - it's just warm - it should be hot as well.

Check your thermostat...sounds like it is stuck. Cheap easy replacement.

Just curious since I own a 98 4Runner, it seems like low mileage to have a clogged radiator, did you ever flush out the system and replace the anti-freeze? I have done mine a couple of times and the fluid seems clean.

Did not flush it, we're driving from Cali to Montana this friday - so I went ahead with the radiator replacement for peace o mind - instead of messing around.
