20 inch wheels on LIMITED

I'm looking to get a set of Black Rhino 20x9 wheels and was recommended by Discount Tire to get a set of 275/55 tires with it. I am running a stock suspension and would prefer not to mod anything to make them fit. Is there a certain offset that would work since the stock one is 15et? Just trying to avoid rubbing. Any advice would be great

As far as you posting over again the SAME EXACT question on a new thread because you didn't get an answer. Usually we just bump the old one up by posting "bump" and it will go to the top.

If you look under your car at your spare it says right on it that it is a 20 x 7 J .Pretty sure the 7 stands for rim width. Not sure what the J stands for.

Maybe you didn't get an answer because nobody has done it and you are stepping up to a 10.82" width tire that requires rim width of 7.5-9.5 inch rim from a 9.64 inch tire. Here is a tire size calculator Tire Size Calculator - tire & wheel plus sizing

The wheels on the 4Runner are 20 x 7 and the J stands for the shape of the flange and those tires will not fit on those rims (not safely)

Just got KMC RS2 rims 20x9 +18 with 275/55 bfg ko2 tires and i have zero rubbing. Nothing at all.
Stock 2016 limited. No spacers, ill never lift it and itll probably never leave the pavement.

My tire shop placed the order for me and when they arrived i was a bit shocked to see they were +18 the back spacing math didnt make sense to me but they are completley fine even with the aggressive tread on those tires.

Really? I saw another post that someone had black rhino 20x9 with a +12 with 275/55 on his Limited and has minor rubbing. That's strange too since the +18 will tuck it into the fender more since the stock wheel is a 15et

Zero rubbing.
I drove around late in the evening when it was quieter with windows down and radio off.
Did full lock circles both directions, left/right moving forward and backward.
+18 worked for me.
I was super relieved that i wasnt going to have to cut mudflaps or heatgun stuff.

As i mentioned before i was a bit worried when my tire shop ordered the rims in a 18 offset but the owner said he had been doing tires and rims his whole life and i should "trust him" i have been buying tires from him for years and he has never done me wrong so i did trust him and it worked out.

Rims arrived on a Monday but install was scheduled for later in the week so still being a bit skeptical i contacted the rim manufacturer about what offset they recommend for the stock 2016 limited, they never got back to me so i contacted other places and i was told to go with a +18.

Try contacting black rhino directly.

So I just read through this entire thread, and I only saw one other member with 285/50-20 cooper discoverer ht plus tires.

I just bought a set from discount tire online, as they were listed to fit the '12 4runner LE.

I am planning on getting them mounted tomorrow, but now I'm worried that they might rub. If it just rubs the plastic well guards, I can move them, but I really hope not, and I am also a bit concerned about them being too wide for the stock wheel. I'm not doing to anything crazy / off road with the 4runner, I just pretty much run around town in it.

Has anyone else here run 285's on stock 20' LE wheels?

I ended up returning the 285's and getting 275/55's, same tire. They fit great, no rubbing, balanced perectly, and improved handling quite a bit.

I'm looking at 2016 models and test drove an R5 Premium, trail Premium, and a Limited. The Premium gave a much better (more comfortable) ride on the city roads and Highway on which I tested the three models.

Question, I like the features of the Limited but the ride of the Premium. Would the Limited give a comfortable highway ride similar to the Premium if I changed stock 20 inch tires to the upgraded tires that were talked about on this thread?

If so, would I need to switch to 17 inch tires like on the Premiums or just upgraded 20's?

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks to all those who shared their internal LE wheel struggle. After reading and re-reading. I opted for 275/60r20 Terra Grapplers on the original wheels. To make sure they fit I installed a 2.5"/1.5" leveling kit from Daystar and pushed the fenders forward before having the tires mounted.

Looks great atx! I've got basically the same set up (1.25" Spidertrax spacers – ToyTec 3/1.5” leveling kit – Michelin LTX M/S2 275/60/20)

Glad to see more people adopting the 275/60/20 on stock LE wheels!

I have 275/60/20 on OEM Limited wheels. I have the Daystar 3/1.5" lift and level kit installed.

Another 275/60/20 on OEM wheels. It's a revolution!

Here are my Cooper Discoverer 275/55/R20s on Black Rhino Sidewinder wheels. Rubbing on full lock. Removed front mud flaps from Limited. Had to use a heat gun and drill to open up the wheel well plastic to reduce rubbing. Love the look and worth the extra inconvenience.

Sorry typo. 275/55/R20.

Used heat gun with a hammer to push in the plastic. Also used a Dremel device to score some of the plastic.

Has anyone here heard of a Limited running 275/55R20's having any issues? I read the entire thread and did not see any.

Is it difficult to find a place that will install the larger size?

I want to replace the 245/60's with 275/55's so many more options. Would only do it if its "safe" to do.
