2002 Fuel Filler Neck

I was looking around and found only 1996-2000 filler necks online. Theres none to be found for 2001-2002 models. Anybody knows if they are somehow different or would the earlier models fit my 02? If somebody has a part number or knows where to find one, please let me know!

From 8/2000:77201-35700.

Hard to see any difference on the EPD--here is the '96-'00:

and the '01-'02:

I don't think they even changed the diagram. Several other parts in the system changed at 08/2000, including the tank itself.

I took off my filler neck and it does differ from pre 2001 models. The earlier model one has one breather tube pipe on the side. Mine has 3 one of which connects to a plastic thing that wraps around the base of the inlet. That plastic thing has been screwed with. Looks like somebody tried to pull it off with a screw driver but it actually has to be sealed. I did a smoke test and it was coming from underneath the plastic.

I wonder why there are so many vent pipes on it... And if there is a way to mod the earlier model to fit mine.

Update: My mechanic was able to modify a 2000 4runner filler neck to fit my 02. He soldered an extra vent line into it and connected the two hoses from the gas tank into that line through a Y fitting and extra rubber hoses. Also the older model filler neck has a bigger pipe than the new one. It wouldn't fit in the rubber inlet hose so he cut the pipe half way and connected it to a cut off piece from my old pipe with a hose that sort of fit both and tightened it with hose clamps. Pretty redneck way to do it but hey, it works and I saved a couple hundred bucks.

Thought I just share the story so that those that find themselves in my shoes know that it can be done!)
