2002 solid axle swap....questions reguarding the little stuff

My pallet: 2002 4runner sport..auto..4wd..

I have pretty much figured out the big stuff. 3 link, coilovers, ruffstuff housing blah blah blah...I have reached a bump in the technicalities of such a swap on my truck.

ABS: I hate it anyways and will be glad to rid it, but i dont want the lights on in the dash. I haven't found much info on how to rid the lights. I have read to ground some wires and the lights go away, though no real writeup

Transfer case: I don't much care for my indicator lighting up but I dont want it to blink or stay on constantly. I understand there is both a sensor in the TC and at the axle. obviously the axle sensor will be removed with the ifs...how will this affect the lights in the dash and how can I remedy that.I have read to mount the axle acuator someplace else (not actuating anything)and the lights will be on when in 4x4, off when not

I have a line on a "parts truck" 4.88, locked f/r, doubler, etc. I want the truck mainy for the front axle and gears and lockers but after some more research Marlin sells an adapter to mate my auto to an old school t-case setup. ?? Where does the speedo read speed? I am assuming at the back of the t-case.....any insight?? same question with the lights in the dash if its possible to do the doubler, can I just mount the switch someplace else no lights or possibly ground wires

I am sure there will be more but for now i will leave with these

Thanks

Speedometer: reads speed from the ABS. In order to correct this, you'll need something from Dakota Digital. See my MOD thread for what you'll need, and how to hook it up.

ABS: easiest way to get rid of that light is to pull it out of the cluster.

4WD light: same thing as ABS light.

I know this because when I did my 8.4" and manual hub swap, I completely lost my speedometer.

I plan on completely removing my ABS pump, and re running my brake lines.

Going to do a write up in my mod thread when I do it.

You should just get a Inchworm Lefty if you're going to do a SAS. Then regear it so you can have a good crawl ratio.

One more thing..... Make sure the 4.88s out of the "parts truck" will fit into your 8" axle housing.

That's why I did my 8.4" axle housing swap. ;)

Nice...gonna read through your writeup now, thanks. How or what makes the parts truck fit my housing? I was under the impression my rear was a regular 8" and not the 8.4"..If its the 8.4 i will just regear as its stronger.

As long as the parts truck has an 8" housing and not an 8.4" you'll be ok.

I bought my gears and lockers from a guy on TTORA, and they were for a Tacoma. Tacoma's have the 8.4" unless they are equipped with the e-locker.
