Hi y'all. I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. In advance, thanks for your help!!
I've got a 2010 Limited that I bought just before Thanksgiving in 2012 (37,000 miles). It's covered by the certified warranty (12 months, 12,000 miles).
Right now, I've got it in the bodyshop to get some work done thanks to a recent storm. I've also asked the service guys to take a look at the passenger door handle. If I'm remembering correctly, the passenger door has an electronic sensor (just like the driver's side door) that allows for the 4Runner to be unlocked with the touch of the door handle (assuming you've got the electronic key in your pocket).
It hasn't worked for a while, and when I dropped it off on Monday, the service rep was saying that he has NEVER heard of a 4Runner with that option. Driver's side... yes. Passenger's side... no.
I'm positive that this is correct... that it functioned properly on both sides of the vehicle when I bought it.
Am I right in this memory?
-Joel
PS - I'm having other issues with the dealership. They are trying to get me to pay for services that should be covered. There's an issue with the driver's side tail light. It should be covered by the certified warranty, as that's a comprehensive warranty. I guess maybe it's time to find a different dealer?
