2011 4R Wheel size change

Yeah those simulated bead lock wheels by Toyota have been available for the 5-lug Tundras for some time now. If they were available in 6-lug for the 4Runner's I would have been all over them. Unfortunately I doubt Toyota will produce those in 6-lug or change the 4Runners to 5-lug. :sobbing:

I have been researching and I cannot even find a Spacer/adapter that will convert our 6-lugs to 5-lug so I can mount those wheels.

EDIT: I just went to 4Runner.com and yup they are listed under accessories. When I try to build a 4Runner, Trail Edition isn't offered. It's still listed on their main page, so just another temporary bug I'm sure.

From this pic of my 4Runner, you can see why I want them....

Man, just came across the wheels listed on the accessory page myself. They're not listed on the TRD website (Toyota Racing Development) so I decided to call TRD customer service. After pointing the nice lady to the 2011 accessory page to see what I was referring to, she actually told me that the 2011 accessories would not fit my 2010 model -- I nearly laughed out loud at that one...

After convincing her that I really had a 2011 4Runner and I wanted more info for adding the wheels to my new truck (telling her she was wrong and that a 17" wheel with same offset/backspacing is not model year dependent wasn't working...), she was able to dig up the following:

1) The wheels aren't going to be available until at least the end of the year
2) They will be the "stock" bolt pattern for the 2011 models.

So, assuming that Toyota is keeping with the 6 bolt hub (which all pictures and info on the web indicates), then these TRD wheels will be 6-bolt (let's all cross our fingeres that's the case at least).

It wouldn't break my heart if they were black like the special edition FJ wheels either...

Those wheels rock. I liked them so much that I called Toyota service dept and they looked and could not find any info on them. Even told them where to look. I 'm taking delivery of my wife's trail tomorrow and if their was a chance I would have change wheels in a heartbeat.

Talked to the parts dept at my local toyota dealer today and they were confused as to why that 5 lug wheel is listed since they said it isa T undra wheel. Nothing they have on record indicates it as being available in a 6 lug pattern. They also said if I wanted them they could swap out my hubs for 5 lug models so the wheels would fit... Is that even possible???

toyota makes the same style wheels in 6 lug for special tacoma and fj packages. I'm sure the pic is wrong, but they do offer 6 lug wheels like that.
2011 Toyota Tacoma TX and TX Pro Package

2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Special Edition

Off topic, but wow, Toyota now offers a Double Cab configuration with a 4-banger and in the lower stanced. With the exception of the X-Runner, the lower stanced Tacoma looks horrible, the body is way too big for those puny tucked-in 14" rims. I've always said the best looking 2nd gen Tacoma's have fender flares.

On a side note, I want an alloy spare that appears to be standard now.

I wonder if these wheels are likely to run the same specs as the stock TE wheels...I love the wheels but do not want to run spacers...

Yeah, but even the OEM wheels on all 5th gen 4Runners are too tucked in. They would look better with wheel spacers even with the stock wheels.

That's especially true for the Limited wheels. Waaaaay too far set in...

the beadlock style TRD wheels for tacoma and fj's have 4.5" BS, I would assume if this other wheel exists it would too.

Those are the wheels that come on the rock warrior tundra... My buddy has one and they are great wheels. I have a feeling these are a typo, but I hope they are not, because id love to buy them. The ones on the rock warrior are a dark silver, which is what im looking for...

either way, I'm sure these wheels will be available at some point in time. However I know that the only way to get them when they first came out was to have an FJ trail teams vin when you ordered.

2010 te

The 2010 has 6 lugs form the pics. Those sweet ass rims look like 5 which seems weird. I WANT THEM. Worth $345/piece.

That last link to TRD racing has a spot to order them. I submitted a request on info. See what happens and post. Based outta texas. I want these rims for my 06 t4r.

Looky what I found! Check out the wheel's on that 2011 Trail Teams FJ, do they look familiar (T4R TE)? Maybe the TRD wheels will be available for the 2011 T4R TE after all?
