I know its not the answer your wanting, but why not rip all your CDs to mp3's and then put them on a USB drive, then plug it in the glove box. I don't even bother with CDs now.
I used my 6 disc changer in my last car pretty frequently. Once I got my 4Runner with ipod integration, I never use the CD player. I've had the same CD in it for probably 3 months now and I've listened to it a total of 5 or 6 times. Bluetooth streaming from my iphone is brilliant.

Sorry guys...old man here in my 40s.:hello: I am also an avid audio fan (wouldn't call myself an audiophile) and have thousands of CDs in my collection (mainly Jazz) since CDs were introduced in 1982. To me, there are audible differences. I also like to see the art work, and names of other musicians that contributed to a track, studio and recording equipment used etc etc. My serious listening is done at home...but regretted not getting the Limited for the CD changer (and other features such as Full-Time 4WD). Just a pain to switch CDs every 60 mins while driving....
So can the 4-disc changer in the Limited be installed in a SR5?

Nope, the wiring harnesses are different between JBL and non JBL models.
You are going to have to dump your stock stereo and go aftermarket to get a multi cd changer.

Yep. Harpers right on that. Quite a few discussions on this one. Aftermarket will probably be better anyway. Although I like my Nav system, had I been given a choice, I probably wouldn't have gotten it. The dealer only had 1 4Runner in stock when I bought mine, and it was the limited with nav. The system is not bad tho, but the software leaves a lot to be desired.

Sorry I can't tell you much about CD-changers, but as folks mentioned above CD-ripping is a good solid solution for your problem. I'm myself was missing CD-changer in my previous vehicle at first, but then I discovered that there is tons of free software in the internet for ripping CDs, starting from built-in Windows Media Player. So I spend some time ripping CDs and organizing MP3 files on 16Gb USB stick i bought, but after that I had probably over 200 hours of music sitting in my glove compartment. Way easier and cheaper than replacing stock CD-player. Oh and by the way 4Runner stock CD player plays mp3 and therefore you can put a few audio CDs on one mp3 CD if you don't like USB stick. And I'm 42, so you don't seem that old to me

I bought a great bottle of wine...spent a rainy afternoon burning all of my CDs into iTunes...and transferred them to my iPod.
Everything from Aerosmith to Zeplan is right there for my road trips. My iPod only leaves the glove box to get new music injections. I even loaded my son's Linkin Park...which I play a LOT.
My wife thinks it's a sign of mid-life crisis setting in.
Ok, I'll admit I'm way behind on this. What is the better option:
A: get an app to synch my Droid with Itunes and figure out how to use the Blue Tooth connection
a. (I have my handsfree working but can't figure out how to get the music to work)
B: Give in and get an Ipod like everyone else in my family and hook it up to the USB port (does it charge via the USB?)
C: Use a thumb drive and figure out how to get music on it and use the USB connection in the glove box?

Thanks for all your input....we have a road trip this coming weekend. I will test out the Bluetooth feature to feed the music from my wife's iPhone and the jump drive feed into the USB port. And I will compare to CD direct. All will be the same CD same song. I may be convinced....we'll see.

I believe I had better luck doing the phone first, then switching to AUX and doing SETUP and selecting the phone again as the audio player.
I personally don't like the way the MP3 flash drive works, it is really slow. The only way I use it is shuffle and hit next till I like the song. Searching for a song is hopelessly slow. The benefit of using your droid would be to use it's interface, which is hopefully better than toyota's.
edit: it does charge the iPod via USB.
