2011 TE front end noises

No its something underbody or suspension. I just wanna get it figured out before I go ahead and install my new ICON stuff. Because we all know if i take it in with anything other then stock parts they are gonna try to blame it on that. Very frustrating.

Off to the dealer to demand someone goes with me for a drive today.
 
they were too busy ... as expected. But its super easy now to produce the sound. turning left at about 25-40kmph over anything uneven and its there and rippled pavent surfaces its easy to tell something under there isn't tight. This just delays my icon gear going in. Until I make them hear it and believe it its staying stock. Which sucks
 
Would you be able to make a recording of it/sound clip and post it so we can hear what you are hearing. You can use your phone recorder or a camera that takes video/sound. Very curious on the noise you are hearing.
 
I have the same, noise. I just let it be since I figured it had to do with the suspension I put on it. I was thinking about sticking my GoPro down there and driving to see if it would help pinpoint the noise. In my case, it happens on almost washboard type roads, or really crappy streets with small, sudden jolts. Sounds like a clanking coming from the driver's side front. I have spent hours laying under the truck trying to see some shiny metal, or something that would indicate rubbing or clanking with no luck.

This was my problem, squeaking/rattling from the inner fenders.
I also can get a little knocking on dirt if I'm pushing it but it's perfect even on less than smooth pavement.
 
I had a creeking/snapping sound in my 4Runner Trail Edition the last two months and I finally couldn't take it anymore and had the dealership look at it today. Turns out, when my 4Runner was aligned the last time at the dealership 2 months ago, they forgot to re-torque the nuts that hold the lower control arms together. WTF!!!!! Is all I had to say. Good thing mama and the little guy weren't hurt because of someones negligence.
You might want to check the basics of your noises on your 4Runner. Just sayin.
 
Might be worth spending the extra time to torque all bolts when I do my lift install in a few weeks. Trying to find a service manual to get all the torque specs. Anyone know where to get a manual?

Okay, here is a video. If you listen hard you can hear the front left clunking. That is if you can hear it over my very annoying squeak on the same side. This is my parents street they live on.

Right, there are interior noises including the squeak. There is also a knocking on the left drivers side it is hard to hear from this video, but it is there.
 
I can hear the clanking, sounds very similar to mine. If I have time tomorrow I'm gonna out my go pro in the inner fender and see if I can see something acting up.
 
Thanks for this vid. Sound it very similar. When I get home again I might purchase a go pro to help in sourcing these sorta noises. I wish my dealer was a little more helpful and actually gave a **** about my issues. Its obviously there and now I'm stalled on lifting until I make sure they hear it in stock form.

Did you ever figure out what was causing the clunk. My dealer totally sucks so I have to once again fix this issue myself. Anything helps thanks
 
Hey guys, sorry to revive an old thread. I tried the search function and could not find anything. If its been covered and I missed it, I apoligize. This is the closest I have seen to my problem and did not want to start an entirely new thread. I have a 2011 SR5 (stock) and have been hearing and feeling a sort of "grinding" or "rubbing" sensation from the front end (INSERT JOKE HERE). It seems to be getting worse and happens when I am city driving on paved, mostly smooth roads. It comes and goes quite often, like there is something hung up or loose and is rubbing. Visual inspection shows nothing, though I am rather ignorant when it comes to mechanical things. It can be felt through the gas pedal and driver floorboard. It is not nearly loud enough to be recorded. Like I said, it comes and goes quite frequently mostly while driving straight. If I turn, it seems to alleviate it to some extent. I do not smell burning brakes or anything that would suggest a pad us hung up. Being on the accelorator or coasting does not seem to change its fequency. Any help would be appreciated. It goes for is 20K service in about 3K. Thanks for any help.
 
The slight knocking on the drivers side for me has been found, just not fixed. There are plastic coverings in the inside of the wheel well. They are attached with plastic buttons and one of the buttons is loose and lets the plastic move fore and aft. Just this little motion causes my noise, I just haven't fixed it yet. I know others here with the same problem have already fixed theirs.

Yours sounds like a different problem all together. If you can't find anything upon a visual inspection, and it happens often, I would take it to the dealer to be checked out.
