2014 Entune problems

I stream 100% of the time, about 1 1/2 hours per day, via Bluetooth to an IPhone 6 on Pandora and haven't had any issues so far. I bought the TEP new back in Febuary of this year and never use FM or Sirus/XM. I will try to pull my firmware version today and post.

Finally got mine in to get the Entune Update. My update screen now shows:

There are both entune hu and ios mobile app updates available. No info I can find on the change though. Holding out as I haven't had issues in the last month.

I applied mine on my iOS 10 iPhone6s with no issues.

Update covered some new stock market indices and "minor bug fix and updates". Along with Mirai drivers getting some D2 options.

Also added Facebook sharing for Points of Interest.

I have had my 14 TE for about a month. It has HD on the head unit. Every now and then the unit does a reboot. Need to take it in to the dealer. On the other Entune equipped toyota's you can access the phone address book for Navigation. Apparently this is not available on the 4Runner unless I am missing something in the setup.

I have just started to encounter this problem with my 14 Limited! It seems to reboot the entire system to include the radio when I'm using the navigation system. No issues occur when simply using my radio and Bluetooth. I'm taking it into the dealership tomorrow. My brother, whom has the same vehicle and year is also having issues with the back up camera in additional to the nav. system.

I have a '14 SR5 with Entune, but I can't seem to find any app that my phone doesn't do better. What apps are you using successfully?

2014, 38k miles Limited and we just noticed the radio shut off twice yesterday.

I assume dealers are aware of this issue at this point? is there an offical T-SB?

I think the rain/bad weather has more to do with radio frequencies traveling through airwave interference, which then become unstabilized, rather than water possibly getting into your vehicle's electrical systems! If your electronics are getting wet, the radio will be the 'very least of your troubles'; trust me on this one!

After months of normal behavior, it rebooted 3 times on me today. I had been driving around all day in very light drizzle with it working fine. Then went out again this evening and it did it 3 times in a span of about 5 minutes of driving. Once on the way to the store, and twice on the way home. There was a front headed this way, and I could see lightning in the distance. So maybe EMF has something to do with it. Weird...

Very odd. Same thing happened to me today. I'm also in Texas. My radio had never played the reboot dance before. It happened 3 times in 5 minutes today. Cold and rainy. I thought maybe I had too many electronic things going at once which caused the radio to reboot. I was talking on the phone via Bluetooth, heated seat was on, windshield wipers, headlights, defroster. Before I answered the phone I was listening to XM. I really hope this reboot thing doesn't become a common occurrence.

Crazy. I was driving home from work yesterday morning at 6:20am and mine rebooted for the first time ever about 2 minutes after I started driving. Rebooted twice more within a few minutes. No issues driving into work tonight though.

I thought maybe I had too many electronic things going at once which caused the radio to reboot. I was talking on the phone via Bluetooth, heated seat was on, windshield wipers, headlights, defroster. Before I answered the phone I was listening to XM. I really hope this reboot thing doesn't become a common occurrence.

FYI - mine reboots 100% of the time on I-10 passing between The Rim and Leon Springs around The Dominion. This behavior started about a month ago.

I should add that about a month ago, I removed the shark fin antenna and replaced it with a low profile one (was interfering with stuff on roof rack). I just used the cheapest thing I could find to cover the hole and left the wiring disconnected for the satellite radio as I am not a subscriber. This has had no bearing on the rebooting issue. Reboots happened intermittently before and after, but it does eliminate the satellite radio antenna from the mix.

How do we get word to Toyota that this is happening on a widespread basis? Taking it to the dealer resulted in flashing an update to the HU, but the reboots still happen. Trying to pin down an intermittent issue can be maddening. For me, this is now the 5th incident over a year of ownership. When it happens, it happens continuously while I'm operating the vehicle. It also seems that bluetooth is active when it happens, but that could just be that I'm always streaming music from my phone. For me it seems related to the current weather pattern - slow drizzle, lots of cloud cover. Not sure if lightening is a factor but that would certainly point to heavy static/EMF in the air.

I just picked up a '14 TEP and started having issues with random reboots. Firmware had never been upgraded, was running 0101A5 and went in on Friday and had the dealership update it to 0101D4 per T-SB-0035-16. No reboots yet... but when I was having issues with it before it was on a cold rainy night.

Just bought my '16 SR5 on Friday. Drove it home yesterday 12 hours from Buffalo to Raleigh without issues. Downloaded Entune app and applied an update on the ride. Tonight, rebooted on me probably 5-6 times within a 15 minute ride home. Cold and raining. Not happy about it.

Crazy to see all the Texas posts here, I too have had entune system reboots that started for the first time yesterday. There has to be something going on. I'll admit, I haven't read this whole thread, but is there any way to fix this as of yet? Going into the dealship this Friday for a 10k service I'll see what I can find out on the issue.

I got my dose of reboots yesterday. At least 8x in a span of 15 minutes. After we finished our errands, it never happened again. And nothing today either.

100% failure and restart of the head unit under the following conditions: on bluetooth phone call passing "The Dominion" on I-10 West of San Antonio. This does not happen unless I am utilizing the bluetooth connection between my phone and the head unit (HU).

First the connection between the HU and the phone will suddenly disconnect. During this time, the phone call is still on, but only on the phone - which is illegal in San Antonio. Multiple tries under different scenarios all result in the same ending: the HU restarts or restarts multiple times.

I am fairly determined that the problem is an improperly handle exception within the bluetooth connection part of the HU software. My solution... nothing. I am out of warranty at over 60,000 miles, and I don't want to sink more money into this HU when I really want to upgrade it someday.

Unless some one can figure out how we can fix this issue without throwing money at it, I am just going to deal with it until I can upgrade.

Mine started it yesterday, rebooted 4 times within about 30 minutes. Was at the dealership the day before being aligned, I assume they didn't do any updates while it was there. It too, was cold and rainy in Louisiana. I was also travelling on I-10. Odd

Mine is doing the same thing but it seems to only reboot when its wet outside?
