2014 Entune problems

goes to show no one did a search on the forums. there is a 3.1 & 3.2 update thread where you can do this yourself.

you know what, it's not that people have not searched. i did do a search and that's how i ended up here. Thanks to netling for posting your 3.2 update link. now i don't have to read through a ton of search results to find it.

thank you for taking the time to provide the update steps with all of us. thanks to netling for posting the link to the thread.

Glad I can help!

So that everyone knows, there will be another update coming soon. Toyota is trying to decide to do over the air or USB.

I'm sure it's one of those internal debates of "Charge for it and let dealers make money!" vs. "EVERYONE is providing FREE UPDATES". Of course my vote, are you listening Entune team, is for the free version. Upload the updated Entune to a server and let the owners update it themselves but giving them the option of going to the dealer to update it for a fee. Heck, use it as an incentive to get 4runner into the dealership... ie. Get your oil changed and we will update your Entune for free. OR want a FREE Entune update, just test drive the latest 4runner.

This isn't rocket science, it's marketing with business intelligence.

Enjoy!

i'm having an issue with entune when it pairs up to my iphone. When it first pair up, it would call my own number however when I check my iphone it isn't calling. I tried to end the call however that doesn't work. I had to turn of my bluetooth.

its updated to the latest version. I have tried deleting and adding it back on with the same issue.

any suggestion?

I'm not sure if you are experience an Entune issue for an iphone issue (heaven forbid, Apple in the wrong!?) When you connect your iphone to Entune, the iphone sends any bluetooth enable apps audio to Entune. The problem is that the iphone doesn't always send a clean end/break, thus leaving Entune connected to the phone waiting for the audio. It would be real easy to blame the head unit but issue is actually Apple related. See this Forbes article on it: iOS 8 Troubles Continue. iPhones Hit By Bluetooth Problems

So, before blaming Entune, make sure you have the latest iOS and the latest Entune.

I do have a random crash, which I'm confident is a memory leak problem with Entune but hopefully the latest update coming will fix this.

This is just to add a note to the thread having been asked by others elsewhere.

My Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920A) is working great on my 2014 TEP. No glitches at all.

.... of course the 3.2 file is no longer available (or at least i cannot find it). ToyCare is telling me that 3.2 is not for my Entune/Audio system, and that i need to go to the dealer. I have a '14 SR5 Premium which ToyCare says the head unit is a "Premium Navigation and Entune system" and that 3.2 Entune update is only available for the "Display Audio with Navigation head unit". Anyone know if this is true? From reading the bulletin, it looks like it covers my system as well, but not sure at this point.

With the bluetooth flip-flop issue which may be iOS related and the total freeze up issue, and the horrible Nav, i'm not really happy with this unit.

Thank you.

I'm having the same issue like everyone. I have a 2014 TEP and the stereo will freeze and reboot itself several times while I'm driving. Toyota said to download the app and do an update. I haven't done it yet but hopefully it will fix the problem. ;-(

audio lag.

Anyone notice audio lag using Bluetooth? for music it doesn't really matter, but when my son watches a youtube video on my phone, I notice audio does not match up with the video. I was going to over look this issue until, I got a rental car. I had a santa fe for a week and noticed that there was not audio lag at all. any thoughts?

I have the same issue playing movies from my tablet, sound lags behind the video for a couple seconds.

I have a 2015 SR5 with Entune. Purchased in January. It had an issue connecting Bluetooth the other day. The head unit shut down this morning and rebooted.

My headunit restarted or locked up 5 times in the last 3 weeks.
Videoed each time and contacted the dealership, sent them the vids, they wanted to check to see if it has the latest software update.

The dealership installed a new update today, see photos.

EDIT: Update to software had to be done via Techstream, otherwise I had the latest update.

If you would have held in the power / volume knob in for several seconds, it would have done a hard reboot and restarted the head unit.

See my post two above yours, for the latest update.
You have to have this done at the dealership via techstream.

So far, since the update, mine has not acted up once.

So my question is how long will it be fixed for? Entune is the only thing I hate about the truck.

I could give you a smart azz answer like, ............ my crystal ball quit working yesterday, or ....................until it acts up again.

But will answer with
It's only been 2 weeks!

I think someone will help you with that question!

:snacker:

I don't think Toyota is well known for the reliably of their stereos, the one in my FJ would lock up as well while using XM radio. Oh well small sacrifice to pay for an awesome truck.
