2014 Side Mirror Bulb Access

Great info I am going to do the puddle lamps and the tailgate. I also think I'm going to swap the bulbs in the door. I know I don't want to change the over heads, we have that in our jeep and to be honest they are too bright and effect my nite vision

Just completed the install following ROBSCOOL's instructions. Covers popped out easily, no damage to the clips, and 20 minutes is about right on the install time. To answer the question above regarding the difference in LED v. Stock, I took pics with the stock bulb on driver's side and LED in passenger side in a dark garage. Very happy with the results. Many thanks to ROBSCOOL for the detailed instructions!

Thanks so much for the removal instructions and all the input on this mod.
Anyone else reading for instructions ROBSCOOL isn't kidding about holding tight. I flung my passenger side cover off and watched it bounce across my driveway :frusty: hold that sucker tight, or be prepared for some damage.

In fact, I put them all over inside the vehicle, and swapped out the puddle lights with them too. Also used these in my wife's Outback (even for taillight and driving light replacements). They work GREAT, and I recommend them! However, I noticed the ones I installed in the underside of my mirrors still have a faint glow to them even after the doors are locked and I've left it alone for 30+ mins. In fact, they dimly lit up the moment I plugged them in.
Perhaps a capacitor? Anyone else experience this? I mean, it's an LED, so I shouldn't be too worried about battery drain, but a little perplexed nonetheless.

Thanks to ROBSCOOL’s instructions, I was able to get access to my puddle lamps to install leds. That being said, my covers seemed to be on there pretty tight and it took a bit of force. While there was no major damage to the clips, I think I could see where it may have slightly chipped the catch on the mirror where the large clip goes ( on the mirror side, not the cover). I also think the covers pop off a little easier now than the 1st time, because I pulled them both again to recheck something. They still seem quite secure and fit perfectly, so I’m not too worried.
Any of you guys notice this? I’m pretty OCD, so it’s probably a non issue.

You know, I've all but forgot about it. Doesn't seem to be a drain on my battery, and really doesn't make a difference. Let's see if anyone else chimes in with a solution though
