2014+ steel front bumper

I have wondered though some aftermarket options (including this one) don't seem to move the factory hitch. Not sure how much increase in departure angle you will get with the factory hitch (and spare tire for that matter) I have found those make contact 1st.

In my case it was "armor". The departure angle is far worse than the approach angle on this vehicle. So even if you go up something without scraping, you may drag your bumper big time going down.
While the receiver hitch is the lowest point with original and most after market bumpers, that doesn't mean that the high point of what you driver over is always there
In fact proper driving style puts the high points in line with the wheels and not the body center. I drug my tailpipe and corners of my stock plastic rear bumper a lot before getting the CBI one. I Still do but now there's no danger of ripping it clean off and fix-up is a simple spray can of black paint In the case above, it looks like he had to plasma out a big hole in the center of his rear cross member. Most people wouldn't want to do that (Bumper install becomes more than a "simple" bolt on affair). There's likely nothing wrong with doing that if it was rewelded or braced to the plate bumper. One of the perks of doing it yourself

I agree most want a bolt on option. My preference would be to get a rear bumper that increased the overall clearance because based on my experiences off road that is what I needed. I encounter more steep hills with trees on either side where there is no line to take etc its simply the "head on" approach across the trail so in that case the lowest point on the back (hitch and spare) are what hit. Nothing wrong with the options that are out there at all! I just prefer [MENTION=47609]BFLAN[/MENTION]'s

Hey guys if anyone is wondering about that 4runner from toytecs sema show i have your solution. He does all my work from sliders and light bars. He is making that exact same bumper now for a trail edition from his shop. Their company is called insain fab located in colorado. I was there the other day getting my light bar installed. They make everything and also are doing a group buy on Xterra bumpers. If there is enough interest they'll do a group buy here as well.

I just contacted Corey at insain fab and this was his response.
"I currently don't having fixturing for 2014 limited. I could build front and rear bumpers no problem but would have to have the vechile to do it. In aluminum you would be looking around $3400 for both and steel would run you around 2900. All depending on different options you would be looking for winch, lights, tire carrier, etc. "

I think this bumper looks great...I hope to see more on the market soon for the 14+ models.
