2014 Trail Wheels on 2010-2013 Limited

Hey everyone--

First off, I know you've all heard this a hundred times before, this is my first time to post on the forum. I've used the forum for the last couple of years for all things T4R and your insight. All of you have outstanding rigs and I love looking at pictures and seeing your adventures.

I do have a question that I've been looking around the forum for, but haven't seen any topics on. There's been a number of topics about putting different sized tires onto the 20 inch limited wheel, but not many related to downsizing wheels.

Has anyone put the 2014 Trail Edition wheels onto a Limited 4Runner? (I'm absolutely obsessed with the look of that wheel)

My wife and I have a 2012 Shoreline Blue Limited that we both absolutely love; however, I'm not looking forward to putting new tires on it down the road due to the limited number of tires available. The 20 inchers did okay during the winter and the ride is alright, but I'm wondering if downsizing wheels would be beneficial.

Can you order these wheels from a dealer? Or would the eBay route be the way to go?

I really appreciate any guidance or insight you all can provide!

Dealer would be way too expensive, keep a lookout on craigslist or eBay, probably cost around 600 for a set of 4.

I'm in the EXACT same situation as you. 2013 limited, hate the 20" wheels and tire choices.

I picked up a set of 2014 trail rims (actually FJ...they're identical) from ebay about 2 weeks ago. I'm waiting until this summer to have tires installed and mounted, so I don't have them on yet. I got them for $700 + $100 shipping. And that's for 5 rims (spare included). Pretty good, I think. They look perfect, and I can't wait to get them mounted.

If you look hard on ebay, you'll find a set for a decent price. You might also post a "wanted to buy" message in the classified here on this site. I did that and got quite a few responses from guys wanting to sell their trail wheels.
