I need to update the thread with new items....life has just been too busy.
I have Metal Tech sliders now, powder coated with a textured black to exactly match the Baja rack but the powder I had done is of MUCH better quality and apparently durability than what Baja does.
The grill is a time consuming PITA to remove and you have to be careful to not scratch the crap out of the painted surround. Its also tedious to get all the little screws out. Not something I look forward to doing again but then again not exactly a hard job. I just dont enjoy tedious.

Thanks for the reply about your sliders. Everyone seems to complain about the powder coat on roof racks of every brand, IIRC. Having it redone with better coverage seems like the way to go to avoid rust. My next door neighbor has a powder coating company and says he does roof racks for a local company (drabbits/Camelback?). I'll have to ask him about doing this for me when the time comes.

Your truck look really nice, I am thinking about doing something similar with the lift. I know you had trouble when you first installed with forward rate, it doesn't look like you have any now, did you Change anything? Also did you ever think about getting 255/80/17? Nice rig hope to see more of it :clap2:

I just wanted to take a minute to share my progress, as I haven't done a dedicated post to the rig in it's completeness. She's ready to rock and roll for the summer! Done two shake down trips already and heading to Overland NW next weekend for a 4 day shakedown there. Pretty happy with how it turned out!

Next up will be some core battery and electrical improvements....
What setting do you have the front bilsteins on with those springs?

If you ever go out and hit any difficult trails... I would highly recommend getting that hilift off the receiver hitch. Unless you want it beat to crap and embedded in your bumper cover. Really not a good mounting spot. The 5th gen has major departure angle issues. I see all types of potential breaking going on with that setup.

I was thinking the same thing. My front and rear bumpers took a hell of a rock -rash beating at The Cove this year.
After a few more trips on those trails my bumpers are gonna sand and grind themselves right off the truck, lol.

Did you get the strip of them on the bottom and the little piece of metal that goes with it?
