2016 4Runner Production Delay

I'm also in NJ and just yesterday drove to Maryland to get my TEP with KDSS in blue. Next nearest one was in New Hampshire. Like you said, they are a rarity right now in NJ.

Glad I got mine. Love it so far.

What NJ dealership did you do business with?

TEP wasn't as hard to come by as the TE was. I got mine at Lakewood Toyota World. DCH Freehold Toyota had 1 TEP in stock as well

Yes, I saw those in the listings but I was specifically looking for a blue TEP and found one at a dealer just outside Baltimore.

Good,luck with your new ride!

I've been told the production delay was for 12,000 global production because of a fire in the China steel factory but all is well now.

Update. My TEP was scheduled for the assembly line on 2/15 and just notified that it was built today because of steel shortage. JUST FYI.

Confirmation that mine was built on 2/24 and has a vessel arrival date from Japan on 3/21. But they say it takes another 30 days to get to the Kansas dealership. Can anyone confirm the California port to your dealership timeframe?

TEP's seem to be pretty scarce here also.

BUT.

They can see...alot

Dealer found my TEP on the BOAT!!

It was inbound without a home, original order was canceled.

MGM TEP w KDSS :riddance: ANY day now...

I would be surprised about this time. Mine arrived in Vancouver, BC and arrived in Montreal, QC in only 3 days.

There was a delay for all 4Runners. My TRDP won't be here until April. It was supposed to arrive in March.

I just bought my trd pro 2 weeks ago and the steel shortage delay in Japan is what made me jump on it. I almost ordered one but didn't do it and then after almost waited for one coming in March but didn't do that either. I happened to call a dealership and they said they had one coming in a few days and there was no deposit on it! Went there and scooped it up. When I got there, there was 1 guy waiting in case I backed out and another guy asking about it. Phew!

Hmmm, they are telling me 10 days on the water from Japan to California. Then 30 to the mid west states. Your pipeline has 30 days on the water. Will be interesting to see what the actual pipeline dates are for yours from vessel arrival to dealership.

Let me guess, you are one of those guys who gets up at 5 am and stands in line outside Walmart because you fear an ammo shortage?

Wait...there isn't one? (Hell, the 9mm and even buckshot was hard to find at Walmart even here in the country.)

Actually, the first thing I was gonna say was that clearly there isn't a shortage in Chicago but I wanted to make sure that it was understood that my reply was intended tongue in cheek. :whip2::police::rain:

I will let you know..

The truck was originally headed to a dealer in PA.

I do not know as of yet what port it is headed in to..Didn't ask yet

Do ALL of the trucks go through Cali.??

Port Newark brings in a ton of cars & trucks, maybe it is headed there or Baltimore. idk

Just wondering..

Mine came in through Jacksonville which is a huge port for inbound vehicles.

Makes sense to have a East and West coast port from Japan. I guess???

Shoot I guess Gulf States Toyota vehicles might all come into Houston. I don't know.

I was just thinking that even it it came into California, it would take a week going through customs etc. and then about 12 days or so to make it to Kansas.

We shall see.

About year ago I went to look at an Orange TRD Pro. Sold by the time I got there.

Friday night I went to look at a red Trail Premium. Sold by the time I go there.

I test drove my TEP at Elmhurst Toyota. I was going to come back with the wife but, before I even got back into my vehicle, a couple of guys pulled up in a 3rd Gen and started checking it out. I immediately walked back in the dealership and laid a deposit on it.

I heard they were more than a little pissed that they couldn't test drive it. :biggrin1:

Dealer told me my truck was inbound to Port Newark. still says 3/9

It is about 15 minutes from my house but prolly 2 hrs (40 miles) from the dealer, NYC ya know...:bash:
