2017 College Football Thread

HAHAH That's great. Im a Texas Tech Grad and love my Red Raiders, but I grew up rooting for Michigan.

As far as the OU V OSU - I'm at a total loss.

The only team I was truly excited to see get upset was Baylor. I do not feel one bit of sympathy for that team.

I feel bad for my UT and A&M friends, it was a rough past weekend in Texas.
 
As a Buckeyes fan, I am not looking forward to the Oklahoma game. I don't think the Buckeyes are a #2 team.

Lucky for all you SEC fans, the Big 10 has enough pretty good teams this season to knock each other off and end up with three or four 2 loss teams and none in the top 5 at the end of the year.

How come you don't think they are a #2 team? First off I hate preseason rankings. It was their first game against Indiana but I expect them to step it up and play some football. I think the Big Ten will be like last year. You will have 4-5 top tier teams and they will all end up beating each other. Who comes out on top this year? Nobody knows. I think that is how the SEC used to be. They used to have 3-5 top tier teams that all beat each other.

Should be a great college football season ahead of us! What is everyone's playoff predictions even though it is WAY too early to really be talking about the playoff. Just for fun.

Oklahoma fans are horrible doesn't matter if it's OU, OSU or the Thunder just horrible with no class. I enjoy sports and I'll give or take a friendly jab here or there over it but these people act like that's all there is in life and that it is a life or death situation 100% of the time. A lot of people I know in Oklahoma get more wrapped up in these teams here than they do their owns kids lives I'm from West Texas where football is a religion but they don't take it to the extent people in Oklahoma take it

I work with a couple of OSU season ticket holders and the things they say about the other teams players, their own coaches and referees is shocking to listen to. I can't cheer for any team around here because of how the fans act. It's a real turn off.

my inlaws are OSU fans and i saw OU fans at the OB when clemson boat raced them 2 years ago. Both are awful. Ok St fans are alright. Their QB is from my town and his brother plays at Clemson.
 
Well it looks like OU blew past OSU, Clemson took down Auburn and USC took down Stanford. It is early but we see who the contenders are versus the pretenders. Any good games this week?
 
Texas just took a couple of years off my life. I'm proud of them so close against USC and their great QB in Los Angles. Maybe Texas and USC should play every year after the '06 Rose Bowl and tonight's game. Great games.
 
Just watched the UW/Colorado game on dvr since I was gone over the weekend. I think that was their most complete game of the season. And given that it looked fairly wet...
 
Bump: Whos got who this weekend? Tech has OK St. in Lubbock. Should be a good test but OK St. looks to avenge last weeks loss against TCU
 
PSU fans, thoughts on the season so far? Weird game on Saturday, IU got boatraced out of the gate and the game lost all the emotion after the 1st quarter. But PSU's O-line struggled, like they did last year against IU. They're a good team but I have serious concerns about the offensive line and the pass rush. Pleasantly surprised by the secondary. McSorely needs to be better though, he is missing a lot of throws and running into a lot of sacks.
 
And LSU fans, not sure if Coach O is the guy but one thing I've learned is that new coaches can take awhile to settle in. Lots of examples of these type of upsets in the first season with a new coach.

I'm not a fan of LSU (but I don't dislike them by any means) as well as I live in PAC-12 country, so I only see small bits and pieces. To me he doesn't seem like the right guy. He just screams coordinator to me and not head coach. But again, that's coming from someone who doesn't have a lot to go on.

Les Miles never seemed like a great fit either. Seemed like he was a great recruiter, but his in-game coaching (especially clock management) was not great (again, just my opinion).
