2nd gen alignment failure... parts to cheap?

so took the truck down to get an alignment... and obviously i knew the upper ball joints and outter tie rod ends were well out of spec... they declined to do an alignment and in turn offered me a $1500 quote with the parts i already knew needed replaced (~$350 in parts and $1200 in labor)... now i hate buying stuff from napa and auto zone due to there lack of intelligence and have yet to check with orillys but while sitting here looking up parts i came across this on ebay

the part numbers listed indicate the parts are "moog" brand and i have hears people using there rear springs but i know nothing of there other suspension parts?

before i drop $90 on parts through ebay and another ~$200 /2 hours of time waiting on the alignment for lifetime alignment service package anyone else use any of these "brand" of parts

I use Moog all the time, Its a quality part.

Thats a good deal on parts! If I still had an IFS rig, I would get those as spares!

Received this parts kit on Wednesday, I was out of town so I haven't done a thorough inspection yet but the shipping was really quick.

I'll post up some more details tomorrow.

Damn i want one of those kits too. Any idea if it'll work on my 89? manufactured 11/88. And if you haven't done that stuff before, your best tool is gonna be a bigass sledge. **** the pickle fork and pullers.

It should, Suspension for the front on an 89 is the same as second gen. All the parts should crossover.

That is a good deal.

The 3rd gen guys hate Moog, apparently they have an inferior ball joint design for the 96-03 trucks. I ran Moog ball joints and tie rod ends on my '86 and was happy with them.

Heres some pics and details on these parts for you fellas:

All ball joints, pitman arm and tie rods ends are in bags with this marking "OE Brand" and have white stickers on the bags with the nomenclature and MOOG part #s.
Every part includes all associated hardware (bolts, nuts, cotter pins and grease zerks as applicable). Only the upper ball joints and Pitman arm have grease zerks; all other parts are sealed shut without zerk locations.

Upper Ball joint w/ Grade 10.9 studs and crimped style self locking nuts.

Lower ball joint w/ Grade 8 bolts and nylon nuts. Also pictured is one of the tie rod ends.

Idler Arm has a different style bag and logo for "DLZ Chassis Parts"

Everything seems to be of an OEM replacement quality... For the price, I still think it was a smokin' deal.

I hate to dig up an old thread but I purchased the same parts above. The lower ball joint did not line up. I have contacted the seller earlier today but have yet to hear anything back. I wanted to bump it here in the case that someone else decides to purchase this for their rig. I have a 92 4WD 5-speed 3.0L.

Didn't line up how, got pics? What's the brand and part number?

Attached is the OEM vs the aftermarket pictures. You can see the OE ball joint has a smaller lower "hump" than the aftermarket. The aftermarket one just slightly does not fit the hub. The eBay seller has replied and I will be sending these same pictures in a few minutes.

I had to get one on a whim from worldpac.

I got refunded $19 for the lower ball joints. I'm not sure if they are taking any action to correct the parts they are sending out. I lost a whole day of time and more money spent finding this out.
