3 to 2 downshift

I've had my 4Runner for a few months, but still not enjoying the 3 to 2 downshift on the gate. I've driven stick shifts my whole life so I'm pretty familiar with shifting! Those times when you need to downshift quickly, I always dread the 3 to 2, often ending up in Low with a jolt.

You are aware that these shifter gates are known for breaking the pin housing in the lower portion of that mechanism, right?
The design of the things is either using it constantly or never.

Sort of like e-brakes, lol.

ive heard about what Sarge is talking about - and unless im going very slow or stopped when wheeling, i never manually shift my truck, and i also come from mostly manuals. i dont really see the point given the general application, on road.

I drove manuals for 16 years until I bought my 4th gen and I utilize 4th and 3rd a lot, but rarely ever go down to 2nd unless I’m out wheeling. Ain’t nobody got time for that
