I suppose they could. Perhaps we just keep it as a file to share in the community...and we advertise it as our "YOTOTA"plate frame.. Perhaps I actually have one printed like that and upload a picture. Of course, when members email me for the file it's entirely possible that I might accidentally not send the the Yotota file ?

I think you lost that file in an off-roading accident right?!

Once I get my hands on the file (sent you an email) I can try out other shops/materials and post the results. If others are willing to do this too we can all figure out the best material and quality.

Hi Khoality,

Based on my experience the best place to have it 3d-printed would be ShapeWays in their 'Black Natural Versatile Plastic'. Important to note this is just for the plate, does not include the colored vinyl Toyota Motorsport stripes.

So far I've received 4 prints from 4 different 3d printing outfits. The only acceptable one in my opinion was from ShapeWays. Maybe other members who I've sent the file to have had better luck themselves?

Let me know if you'd like for me to send you the file. If you want the colored stripes it might be best for me to do that? I have the vinyl here and it might be a PITA for you to drive around and handle all that...

So you actually don't make and sell the frame? I just haven't any experience with printing, total rookie here, so I was just looking to purchase it from you thinking you'd make them available for purchase!

If possible, I would love to receive the file. I think the most I can do would be to stare at it. I'm totally in love of what you've done here!!

I’m not sure. I realized that after installing and wondered about it, but now I’m noticing that about 50 percent of cars on the road here seem to have rear license plate holders that partially cover the state name, so perhaps it has not been an enforcement priority. I’m thinking maybe the Dead magnet is more likely to get me pulled over in some jurisdictions.

Needed a plate frame for our SR5. Was tempted to run the TRD plastic plate that the dealer sells, but figured that wouldn't be right being that we don't have anything TRD on our 4runner.

So I drew this up and had ShapeWays 3D print it. If anyone likes the file/design, let me know. I'd be happy to send it your way.

Subtle but cool... I think anyway. lol.
