@hymers. start by reviewing the information in the forum FAQs. To post a new topic go to the forum index and push the "new topic" button. Also I would advise not posting your email address on threads as you will likely get bombarded with unwanted spam now.

@bootown and zcruiser. Both good points, but only delaying the inevitable. I'm gonna have to figure out how to either split the post or increase my max char limit. Since max char limit is probably also limited within the forum Db, splitting it into multiple posts will likely be the only solution. However not a very good one unless I can get the second part to appear imediately below the first post in threaded view.

Alright. I reviewed the post and was able to decrease the the character count just by sliming down the bb code a bit yet retaining the format that was previously established. Probably going to give me 10 or so more links. Once I reach that, then I will likely start removing references unless I can figure out how to split a thread into two posts.

@boo, I appreciate the suggestion. and will keep that in mind when the time comes that I will need that extra space. At this point the issue has been remedied.

I would also like to publically thank admin for assisting me in with this issue. They answered my PM in only a few hours, and had made some modifications so that the format can remain the same. Thanks for your hard work!

I would point out that also due to the assistance of admin we can now have headers for each category again.

I resent that! Think about how much time people spend on here engaging in generally useless banter. If more people took a third of that time and spent it on making a useful write up, well then they'd be giving something back to the community and really contributing.

Boredom is NOT an issue for me. In fact, I'm faced with a complete lack of time. That lack of time is compounded by having to search and search for info on these kinds of mods & repairs. I'm sure others face the same challenge so I put together these write-ups.

I've actually been writing it while I'm at work. I get one week during my shift rotation where all I have to do is training and I'm all done with training for the year. And it doesn't take all that long. I think I've got about 3 hours into this one.

Haha! Glad you made your way over here and found that. You are right, there is alot of useless banter. What seems to set apart the good writeups is the guys that take the time while doing a project to take alot of pictures, then post them for each step (posting is tedious). I often just scroll down a page until I hit pictures then stop and start reading; I can't be the only one that does that. And 3 hours on a write-up is a pretty long time. Not many guys will spend that much time documenting the work they do.

And don't worry, you have me convinced that you aren't really doing it on company time :naughty:

Plus, I am from CO, so I feel obligated to rip on NM, KS, UT and WY whenever the chance arises.

True, even 3 hours is a chunk of time. I always take lots of pics, but I don't do write-ups on even a fraction of the work I do to the truck. I only take the time to do one when there's a common topic/mod/repair for which no single, comprehensive, all in one write up exists... and which has alot of considerations/options/pitfalls involved

And the CO thing, fair enough. CO is an awesome state. My family and I own property up there. If I file for residency, whill you stop hurting my feelings? :cry2: :biggrin2:

Sigh. What do I have to say, I am stuck living in Mass right now. So many hipsters... So many yuppies... If I have to hear one more person talk about how much more "progressive" Mass is than those backwards western states (Cali excluded, those loonies), I will vomit in their mouth.:repuke:

I can't wait to move back to CO, my beautiful, backwards state. Hopefully soon...
