ANYONE USING THIS SETUP ON THEIR 3RD GEN 4RUNNER ???

FJ SPRINGS FRONT AND REAR AND

4RUNNER SPECIFIC 5100's

TONS OF THREADS FOR TUNDRA 5100's AND TACOMA 5100'S BUT I WANT TO
KNOW IF ANYONE HAS THIS SETUP AND THE PRO'S AND CON'S OF USING THE 4RUNNER 5100's VERSUS TUNDRA 5100's

THIS IS THE ONLY USEFUL INFO I FOUND OUT OF 100+ THREADS

"Taco 5100s have 3 settings, tundra 5100 has 5, and the 4Runner 5100 has 4. It is specifically made and valved for the 3rd gen."

Has anyone else had problems with the rear fj coils making noise? I've been running mine for 6 months now, and it hasn't gone away. I've double checked that they're seated properly and everything. No other issues fronts are quiet, rears just make a "boing" noise on bumps. I will note that mine are moog replacements from AutoZone.

Anyone here ever used the EIBACH shocks ?

These have the height adjustment as well.
0-3" LIFT and only a few dollars more at $116.

I have not heard or read of anyone else having this issue with OEM FJ coils but since they are MOOG that might be a problem.

When exactly is this "boing" sound heard?? On flat pavement road or FULL FLEX when your off roading??

I will tell you this I hear that "boing" sound on my 86 YOTA 4x4 whenever the rear end is flexing and that is because I did the ZURK MOD using Jeep coil springs in the back on top of the old sagging leaf springs. This helped raise and level the rear end and also helped with load capacity.

The FJC coils came in today. The box was in pretty rough shape though.





The front coils were packed inside the rear coils.



I am really excited to get these installed tomorrow!




Current setup is with oem coils and Bilstein 4600 shocks and struts.

Before measurements taken with a little over a 1/2 of gas:

Rear left-20.75"
Rear right-20.5" (JL 10W6V2 is on this side)

Front left-20.25"
Front right-20.5"

I had no idea this combo was possible. Don't people also do tundra springs? How does one decide between all these possibilities?

I was originally looking at the 99 talls but they are a little more expensive compared to the FJCs. Then I was leaning towards OME 881/906 coils. I changed my mind after reading that people on the forum were quite happy with the FJC setup. High marks for ride quality! They also might net around 1/2 an inch more than the 99s.

22.25" for the rears and 21.5" in front.

I've only driven about 10 miles with them. There is a noticeable difference in ride quality. The brake dive has been reduced and my dog will really appreciate that! The rear isn't as bouncy either. It just feels more planted.

This reminds me of when I first bought the 4Runner with 61k. It had OEM coils and Tokicos in the front and OEM KYBs in the rear. What a plush ride!

I will take this on the highway to see if it helped decrease how much the truck would sway with wind.

I have my sway bars connected and haven't really FULLY flexed out the rig, but under flex is when it's heard. Driving on flat pavement and soft bumps they're quiet. I suspected that the moog replacements may be to blame. Is there a noticeable difference in the diameter of the top of the coil and they're seat on the OEM coils? The front coils had a very slight difference, but the rears were noticeable.
