Yep, 1/4 cup salt per 2 quarts. I watch a ton of YouTube videos haha.. all the stuff i did to the cooler I got off YouTube.

Good deal. I seem to recall you are in SF now, so not moving too far...
When I did the radiator I also did the t-stat and other stuff too. I figured the giggle valve was in the wrong orientation, and it was. You doing that also?

I’m in half moon bay right now, about 30mins from SF not too far.
I got the kit on eBay that Tim recommends in his video, pretty sure it has the tstat.
Thanks man, we’ve already started packing a bunch of stuff into those black and yellow THD containers. Trying to make the move as smooth as possible. Might end up renting a uhaul so we don’t have to make 20 trips back and forth.

Been running wires for the past week, I’m remembering why I don’t like wiring lol.. anyways saw a video on YouTube today that I thought was pretty interesting, I guess the elocker button comes with a bulb installed but no wiring!! Ha! So I’m going to wire it up to turn on when I turn the headlights on with the rest of my switches..

I want to say the Tacoma uses the light, but am not certain about that. It was easy enough to do, I added the pins that I needed to the connector from a washer on/off/momentary dash switch I'd nabbed out of a 2nd gen at the junkyard, they're small pins. Hopefully you get more wire than I did.

Nice! Thanks for the pics. I have a ton of pins from the rear hatch I replaced, just pulled two with 3’ tails. Also the aftermarket alarm that i ripped out left a connector from the dimmer switch that I’ll use to light my switches, worked out perfectly.

It does. The switch has the Tacoma (amber/red) back lighting, so I guess Toyota didn't want to make a second part number with the 4Runner (light green) color to it...
I think its weird that plug is there behind the dash, even on my 2WD 4Runner, along with the plugs for the Locker ECU...

Probably would’ve cost more money to design/produce a new wiring harness to save a small amount on materials lol.
Actually I’m kind of glad it’s amber cause I couldn’t get my winch switch with green had to get amber, so at least there will not just be one amber switch on my dash haha.

Wow it feels good to be done with the majority of the lights.. Still have to do under the hood lights, rear/backup lights, and a light for the table on the cbi swingout.
It was a lot of work but I took my time and I’m pretty happy with how it came out. The top light in the switches come on when you turn the switch on, the bottom light comes on with the dash lights.

Very nice. Congratulations! Not looking forward to that project one bit. Happy for you that you got it done.
What's next up for you, those other lights you mentioned, the winch?

Haha thx. Yea those other lights and timing belt/trans cooler/radiator/trans filter. The winch switch is all wired up too, I still have to wrap the line better though.. Will probably be getting an awning sometime soon.

Well now I’m really almost done with all the wiring, got my hood lights 99% wired up and my camp table lights wired.. Also almost forgot about my license plate light! Going to have to look at new trailer wire harnesses because I don’t think mine is oem and I can’t figure out which wires to tap into..

That would have been nice- there are no plugs/wiring for the locker in my truck. Lucky it wasn't hard to add a pin to the cluster, incorporate the switch and wire up the locker with a relay. I do have some extra plugs tucked in there, but none of them are locker pre-wired happiness.
Same here, it does sound good but it looks like a big minus sign.

Thank you. I used these, they are actually just as bright as the rigids.. they only come with 1’ of wire on each light though.

They are surprisingly really bright, definitely will use it all the time when working in the engine bay. Was worried they would hit the top of the radiator but they fit perfectly.

This is a cool build, you work fast! Is rust a constant struggle being so close to the ocean?
