Ok I might just grab some resistors then.. Do they make led 7443’s w/ built in resistors? If so I might return the ones I got.
You used that for the turn signals right? I already have that installed. I’m just worried about the brake light leds throwing the ABS light.

Correct, sorry. Was in a hospital waiting room and had to power down...
For the resistors, I believe I used this or something like it (6 Ohm resistor on 3rd brake light):

Probably won't need that low of a resistance (maybe two of those in series would work well and not heat up too much).
Install the LED bulbs - if it causes problems, you know how to fix it.

All good, cool I think those are what I was using on my Tacoma when I installed my led signals (didn’t know about the relay at the time)..
Ok I’ll wait to get them until I determine I do in fact need them. What ohm/watt resistors would you recommend so they don’t get too hot? I’m horrible with figuring out electronic stuff..

Well I found a 194 bulb (3rd brake light) w/ canbus built in so I think I’ll get that if I get the abs light problem.. Try to return the bulbs I got..

Got a new car last night, 2015 Acura TLX 28k miles. probably shouldn’t of gotten the 6yr warranty but I’m so paranoid and he pretty much gave it to me at their cost. The 6cyl was nice but I figure since I’m about to be a father I don’t need to be speed racer plus better mpgs with the 4cyl.
Also noticed my steering wheel looks painted, not sure if it’s oem but was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for removing the paint?

Congrats on the purchase. Understood on the 4-banger. Chose the four cyl option on our family car too, for the same reason. I think the insurance was also less...
On that steering wheel, I never heard of anyone painting that before. I wonder if they used some solvent or a cleaner they shouldn't have... Or, too much sun? If paint, I'd try things that remove paint, but as always recommended, do so first in a place that is not very noticeable, just in case it somehow makes things worse.
If this will be your first child, life changes quite a bit afterwards. Started quite late and I absolutely love being a Dad. Sleepless nights are just around the corner!

Thanks man.
It’s for sure paint cause I can scratch it off with my finger nail, it’s also on the bottom plastic trim pieces on the front seats. Looked like the PO had the leather on the seats and steering wheel repaired previously and I bet that’s why those things are painted so it blended the repair better.
Yep first one! Definitely going to be some sleepless nights, I’m super excited lol.
Started on the timing belt/radiator/cooler.. probably save the trans filter for my next trans flush. Pretty dirty back there! Going to get some simple green or something on there tomorrow before I reassemble everything.

These build threads can take-on new meaning when our children, years from now read them. My oldest, now 9, saw mine and began reading it in interest, then asked if I have other ones, like for my MINI, and other older rides. Wow. Makes me want to re-read those first before I share with her, lol.
If your feverish build pace slows down a little, we'll understand.

Wow that’s kind of surprising, will have to reread my build on Tacoma world before I share that one with any kids haha.. Eventually this thread will be a build & adventure thread once I actually bring the 4runner out! The purchases will definitely slow down a bit but I’m still going to get a weekly allowance for t4r stuff!! Hehe..
I hate cleaning engine parts.. Not done but it looks a lot better already. I found a wire with the sleeve cut sort of in the middle so I ended up using some Tessa tape and wire loom to make the repair..

Finished up the timing belt and transmission cooler last week, turned out really nice. Ended up doing the transmission filter this weekend as well, fluid was sort of dark but I was pleased to see it was only very very fine metal shavings was like a paste. Not much of it either. Truck definitely feels better under acceleration, I think I was low on fluid before. Took 6qts and I ordered a 7th Incase I need to add a tiny bit.. thanks for all the help [MENTION=102606]infamousRNR[/MENTION]!!

Finally finishing up with moving, been working on the garage/house every other day. Got my rigid reverse lights & camp table lights finished up last night. Really happy with how the camp table lights turned out. Also decided on my next project: marlin dual cases. With a kid on the way I want to be as safe as possible on the trail.
Also built a workbench today, I think it turned out pretty good..

Since it was my bday not to long ago I ended up treating myself to a couple of things.
Full size spare with matching rim! Even mounted the tire on the rim myself. (Thanks for the rim [MENTION=102606]infamousRNR[/MENTION])
Here’s my new battery installed, if you end up buying on of these batteries you will need to get a spacer as well to use the stock battery hold down.

Finally made time to go on a small trip over the weekend! Was a lot of fun, wish I took more pictures. I believe we went up hwy 31 kind of near hwy 89. Got to a point where the road was completely snowed over and we didn’t want to risk getting stuck as I had already gotten stuck in a small patch of snow earlier lol.

The truck looks great, as always! The new garage looks sweet! It seems wider, and longer, the perfect place to get some sicmods done. Does it have the larger outlet for the welder?

Thanks man! Yea pretty happy with the new space. It has a 220 outlet for an electric dryer that I’m using for the welder, works great!

Been a while since I’ve updated. Did a couple things over the weekend: power washed/vacuumed, chased all the threads on my oem skid plate bolt holes, cut my LCA skids a bit more for clearance issues (hopefully I don’t have to cut more), tightened some of the leds on my SRQ blinker filler panels. Also just received my ruffstuff diff skid, this thing is a work of art I can’t wait to install it. Was looking at the bud built skid and I think Marlin but I just really liked the simplicity of the ruffstuff one and the price was right.
