4Runner bluetooth with Android phone?

I actually gave up trying to pair my Droid with Froyo. Such a pain.

Yes, i have sucessfully paired my G2 with the phone function and the Auxiliary function.
paring for phone and the Auxiliary are seperate.
Go into the Auxiliary menu and connect via bluetooth...from there pandora can be played. The sound settings can also be set for that function as well, which i think is good because sound is transferred a bit different for sat vs fm vs aux.

Yes, I can stream Pandora and utilize the controls on my touch screen and steering wheel. Maybe it's the froyo software that is preventing you from pairing, I still have not installed it because of all the issues people have been getting with their phones after they did.

When you are setting up the pairing, there is an option for bluetooth phone, or bluetooth phone and audio player or something. Make sure you select that one. My android phones work very well with the 4Runner's bluetooth. Pandora works good.

Just a heads up when doing Bluetooth audio streaming (A2DP) from an Android phone. I have an HTC Incredible with 2.2, and I noticed that the music audio quality didn't seem to be very good. Playing the exact same thing through an aux cable sounded great. A bit of Googling led me to a number of forums talking about Android having some inefficient A2DP settings by default.
Anyway, just a heads up so you don't go beating your head against a wall trying to figure out why the Bluetooth audio quality isn't as good as other methods. It could be the Android phone, or the car's headunit, or both. There are apparently fixes for the Bluetooth stack in Android that will clean up the issues, but they apparently require rooting your phone.

That's very interesting. If you have the Bluetooth option in your 4runner, have you tried streaming with it? I wonder if the problem is with the 4runner's Bluetooth stack, then, or perhaps just the two working together poorly. I have a friend with an iPhone, so at some point we're going to try pairing his up to my 4runner and seeing how it sounds.

anyone having any issues switching between bt audio and aux (usb drive)? I seem to always be stuck in bt audio. i can switch between that and radio and cd.. but i just cant get to my usb drive anymore.
Works fine for me. Some people have reported that they had issues with their usb flashdrive, and to solve them they plugged in a different flashdrive, then put the old one back in. That somehow resets headunit's usb feature in someway and gets it working again.

Me either. I can make it stream music easily. The quality is just poor. Definitely not as good as the exact same mp3 files being played from a cd or usb flashdrive.

I have a new 2011 toyota 4runner sr5 and I am trying to sync my contact list with my blue tooth via my htc verizon incredible. I can do it name by name anyway to do the entire list at once?

I was able to sync my Incredible's entire contact list at once, no problem. I forget which menu it is under, but there is a contact list or phone management menu with the option to copy the entire contact list. I'm pretty sure they cover it in the manual for the nav system, too.
I just got a 2011 SR5 and have the Droid Incredible with froyo... it took a couple tries but it paired and streams music, podcasts, and slingbox perfectly. don't use the Phone only method (voice command to pair for phone only).
My first couple tries to pair may not have been the truck or the phone, rather the fact that I had never paired a vehicle and the phone.

I was just mentioning how I paired out of the two options available.
The phone book entries are able to be transfered by opening the contact info that you want sent from your Android, click menu and send, select "bluetooth". When you "add entry" through your voice commands you may have to tell the phone to pair again. When I was doing this it would drop the bluetooth at the time of selecting add entry but as soon as I clicked on the phone to pair it again, the number went to the radio. I know this is convoluted but it is how mine worked.
FYI, I do not have the navigation either.
