4Runner Carnage!

Plowed into the back of an old Budget rental truck on friday, Should find out from the insurance today wether its totaled or not. The radiator is toast and was pushed back into the motor, the battery moved back about 2 feet crushing the fuse/relay box. It also broke off the A/C lines. That is all that I know for now I will update when I find out more.

ouch! :( but at least all your wheels are ok and if its totaled you can definitely part off that bad boy. you'll have no problem there!
 
sorry man. such a beautiful truck... but good that you are OK. what year is it?

Sorry to heard about that man but glad you are ok. So if the insurance company says it is totaled, what are your plans? Another 4Runner maybe?

ozana- It's an 01, limited, 4 wheel drive

If it's totaled I will ether get another runner or maybe A scion TC, it depends on how much insurance will give me.
 
if u plan on parting it, i call dibs on the center consol arm rest lid (only if you have the tan interior) , and the roof rails!

That's going to be a total write -off. :(

Sad to see her damaged but she kept you safe.

Good time to buy an used/new 4 Runner. Prices are very soft.

I am not reading it anywhere and did not want to assume.

Damage does not seem to penetrate the interior and that is a good thing.


Good time to get into an 02-or gasp even a 4th gen! the prices are real good now as maine has said.
 
No The airbags did not blow, which was very good!
and yes I am okay, thank you for asking, I still haven't heard anything from the insurance yet but the estimator said that if the repairs were over $13,856 that it would be considered totaled.

What??!! How did the airbags not go off from a front end impact? :awais:
 
I would hazard a guess it will be a total write-off.

With SUV black book prices falling like stones, I doubt your cherry truck is worth 13K.

The airbags did not go off because i was only going 5 MPH. One hope for not being a write off is that there was no damage to the frame.
 
I Just heard back from the insurance today, It's Not Toatled!:biggrin2: :happy bda The said the repairs will cost $8944.26, good thing for insurance i guess. They also said that it will take about a month to complete the repairs.
 
You may want to check to see if they are using OEM parts.

Some people don't want aftermarket. I have no opinion, just giving advice.
