4Runner Supercharger

If I modify my 2006 4Runner hood (slap some sort of scoop or something), then can I use a TRD 4.0 L SC kit for an FJ or Tacoma? How do I flash the ECU? Will the Toyota dealer have a program for the 4Runner, or will a Tacoma or FJ work? Has anybody done this?

You could try and make a functional Sport Edition hood scoop, but it will require a new hood and components. Though the hood scoop is for the top mounted intercooler for the 4cylinder diesel engine tthat is not offered in the US.

As for the ECU, there is no 4Runner support for the TRD Supercharger kit so you need to use a stand alone unit. I believe there have been a few threads that go into detail about this type of modification.

I believe the thread(s) on this topic are in the performance accessories section of this forum. I don't remember the specific title, but you could check there or use the search bar on the top, also not sure if they were 4th gen specific or not!

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I'm new to this scene and I was wondering about SCing too. Has anybody had their trucks tuned for increased performance? I have a V8 2wd, and I think it would be awesome to put some more power to the ground in this thing...
