4runner TRD Pro

I just got word that TRD Pro will be coming in with my name on it. Unfortunately, when I asked the sales rep to send me invoice so that I can see what optional items were installed. I find out they installed the factory running boards which I did not want, and they charged me $60 for a hitch ball mount. The invoice says it was port installed, do I have any room to argue with the dealership to remove the optional items?

On another note: I called AllPro and ordered a set of (4) 1.25" spacers and lugs for the wheels already :)

Congrats. You can certainly try to negotiate, but I don't think you'll have much luck. My guess is the dealer will tell you to buy it as is or walk. They'll claim they'll have buyers lined up if you don't take it. Just a matter of how much you want it.

If you decide to take it, you can always sell the running boards on Craigslist or eBay.

New stuff

Added some new N-Fab stuff. The rock rails found on that 4runner Baja Chase vehicle. They are nice and relatively inexpensive. They are definitely not true custom sliders but I think they would take a hit but not much more. Very solid and good powder coating. Removable steps coming. That's a whole other story dealing with 4wheel parts. Installed them at my buddy's shop. Had to do a little modifying but not bad really.

Infero on a lot in my area

For anyone near Cincinnati, there appears to be an Inferno TRD Pro at Performance Toyota. I saw it on their site.

They told me they had one coming in when I was calling around for best prices about a month ago. I ended up getting a much better deal and ordering elsewhere but the guy I talked to there was cool. They wanted 43,000+ for it which made it about 46,600 out the door. I'm getting mine for about $4,000 less than that. But I figure some folks might not care about paying the extra if they can get it today.

Their number: 800-811-9737
Jeff Rhoads is his name.

Got my 4Runner TRD Pro on Wednesday of this past week. Love it. Lots of random complements and finger pointing type ooohhs and aaahhhs. Between the time I first looked at it and picked it up the dealer did a dirty trick and put a pinstripe on it. At first I thought I would make them take it off, but it's red and kind of understated. Thoughts?

(yes I did plasti dip the chrome rear badge so it matches the front 'TOYOTA' lettered one)

What color plastic dip? Looks good!

Anybody go anywhere this weekend?? I know for some of you its off season for off roading, but here in the Mojave, its the time to be out!! Some pics of a couple excursions I took Friday and Saturday.

Ha! Here's a couple more bites!!...Ya its nice out here, weather has been great, although we could use a bit more precipitation, still in drought conditions, but 70 degrees, low humidity, bright sunshine... is really nice.

Killin' me! We used to camp at Mojave all the time at that primitive group campsite within the campground. But our favorite was getting lost in Anza Borrego and just setting up wherever. Especially in February through early Spring.

But I live in Ohio now so I'll have to live vicariously through you Westies.

My TRD is scheduled to be in port today. Then over to Chicago in 10 or so days and then down to me a few days later.

So, did you move to Ohio for love or money??? lol I'm glad the pics brought back some fond memories of the Mojave.
I'm sure you are full of anticipation regarding the arrival of your Inferno. I know how you feel, a lot of owners here have gone through the process of ordering, allocating, waiting, and then the phone call or text saying: "your 4runner has just arrived"...its really is worth the wait though. A very capable vehicle right out of the box.

where in Mojave is this?

i usually enter it by fwy 15 just before nevada and roam around there for a couple of days.

Finally got one!!!

Picked up my Pro a little over a week ago. I had several bought out from underneath me locally, one right before the test drive… The family was sitting in the 4runner waiting for the sales rep to come back from making a copy of my ID, when he returned he told me that it has just been purchased……. That began my three week hunt for the elusive 4RTRDP. I couldn't find one locally had several dealerships promise me they could have one in two days….. Strange that all of them said specifically TWO DAYS and none of them could deliver. I was forced to expand my search and finally found one about 500 miles away in Iowa. Called the sales rep. Made a deal we could live with "including trade" and the next day I was on the road to Iowa to pick up my spanking new 4runner TRD Pro. I am very pleased with this rig. I live in Michigan so the timing couldn't be more perfect with all the snow we just got. I now have a super white Toyota snowmobile!!!

First pic: Rainbow Basin, in the Mud Hills just NW of Barstow.
Second: Johnson Valley

Next trip will be to Death Valley, southern section.

So, Doc Sus, you live in Eagle Rock, I grew up in South Pasadena, my mom still lives there and I frequent the area. Oh, yeah, have you climbed to the top of Elephant Hill?

Congrats! Your patience and persistence has paid off!! Enjoy your snow rig.
BTW, nice garage! Flowers even!!

Congrats Izoomby. You found what you wanted and went after it. You're going to love it but don't let all the high post count guys on this forum know that because they will do their best to make you feel like a moron for buying a Pro and liking it. Don't say anything Pro about the Pro and you will be safe from the elites here. Do read though because there is a lot of good info here from these high post counters. Yes, that is a lot of sarcasm there and I'll be flamed now on a Pro thread but oh well. I enjoy all these 4runners here and some the build threads are just unreal. I just hope to copy a few of the things 4runner owners do and show here on this board. Enjoy your new ride!!!

Thanks Redkat but that is not my garage. Pic was taken the second I walked into the dealership. They had her sitting there all pretty and clean.
