4runner TRD Pro

Congrats Izoomby. You found what you wanted and went after it. You're going to love it but don't let all the high post count guys on this forum know that because they will do their best to make you feel like a moron for buying a Pro and liking it. Don't say anything Pro about the Pro and you will be safe from the elites here. Do read though because there is a lot of good info here from these high post counters. Yes, that is a lot of sarcasm there and I'll be flamed now on a Pro thread but oh well. I enjoy all these 4runners here and some the build threads are just unreal. I just hope to copy a few of the things 4runner owners do and show here on this board. Enjoy your new ride!!!
4RunnerPro, I read every single page before posting! All 202 of them!! Took me a couple of days but I got it done….. Yeah I hear you about the elites I am staying neutral on that subject. I really like the 4Runner platform I absolutely fell in love with the TRD Pro trim level. I was originally looking at the TEP and doing the mods myself but I have been there and done that to my Ford Excursion and to be honest with you it was fun but I don't need the additional marital stress that comes with "just one more thing honey and I'm done" if you know what i mean. For my personal taste the TRDP trim level is perfect for me and my current situation.

Nice looking TRD Pro!!
I called two of my local dealers today, to place and order on a new set of TRD wheels for my 4R, and they told me they couldn't sell me the wheels if my car is now a TRD Pro, that I needed a VIN for a TRD Pro in order to buy any part for it, has anyone had this problem before?
Thanks...

Just arrived at the dealer a couple hours ago. Hopefully I'll have time to pick it up Friday. Getting tint and clear bra installed in the meantime. The wait is almost over!

Here is a whole thread on the rims and stories...they are available, you just have a dealer that doesn't know any better!

Either go back and speak to a Parts Manager or get them from someone else.
EDIT: Call the dealership in Homestead...I bet they won't tell you that!
They shipped me a TRD Skid plate without issue!
Also, here are Toyota dealerships that have ebay stores and will ship!

Anyone thinking of powdercoating their skid-plate black (or another color)? I'm considering it...

I just picked up my Inferno TRD Pro last week in Portland, OR. Loving it. Took it up to some logging roads in Hood River last weekend and played with soem settings. Still breaking it in so wasn't pushing too hard, but had some fun sliding around and crawling. Rock on! :guitar2:

Sometime down the road I was thinking about powdercoating mine black too, I also have an inferno. Portland must be a great area for a 4runner... when my military obligation is up in about a year the wife and I plan on moving out there, it's beautiful!

For a second year in a row, Oregon is the #1 interstate move destination in the U.S. It really is great here - took me three years of living elsewhere to really appreciate it and realize what I was taking for granted here. Great place to live and own a 4Runner!

If I find a good powdercoater here, I'll send you the details. And, thanks for your service!

Hello Primo,

Here is a thread started on that topic, not a bunch of replies, but nonetheless!
Might want to post here, -> http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/187834-trd-skid-plates-who.html#post1913154 , and then if you do powdercoat / paint it....post up a photo!

First pic: Rainbow Basin, in the Mud Hills just NW of Barstow.
Second: Johnson Valley

Next trip will be to Death Valley, southern section.

So, Doc Sus, you live in Eagle Rock, I grew up in South Pasadena, my mom still lives there and I frequent the area. Oh, yeah, have you climbed to the top of Elephant Hill?

a nice... i need to explore mojave more. I've only gone in there and explored with zero research, turning into the more interesting trails not really knowing where it went. found some gems but id like to get more educated and hit the good spots next time.

love south pass, been looking into moving there and keeping the eagle rock place as a rental property....we'll see.
elephant hill? i do it often! my favorite day-off day hikes with my dog are elephant hill, santa anita campgrounds, eaton canyon and for the milder 1 hr get the dog out days just arroyo seco since my pooch gets to swing in the creek just 5 minutes from the house.

how in the hell you know i live in ER btw?

cool ,I'm in Eagle Rock

I have a really good memory, be careful, lol. I didn't mean to creep you out.

That is a great area you live in, if you have to live near LA. SP is a super nice place, especially for raising kids. Residential real estate prices are out the roof.
700k for a 1k sqft craftsman with a buggy shed for a garage...pricey.

Hope your TRD is serving you well. Any interesting things you've noticed now that you've had it for a few months?

That's crazy, Right? I wrote on their instagram voicing my opinion, they deleted my post. I voiced my opinion about deleting my post, they blocked me. Insane that someone would paint that truck. Would cost less to by the right color trail and add the equipment.

probably belongs to someone that came to this forum and got their ass handed to them by 'the old guard'

that inferno is the only Pro that doesn't readily blend in

probably just wanting that target off his back

brahahahahahahaha

So, did you move to Ohio for love or money??? lol I'm glad the pics brought back some fond memories of the Mojave.
I'm sure you are full of anticipation regarding the arrival of your Inferno. I know how you feel, a lot of owners here have gone through the process of ordering, allocating, waiting, and then the phone call or text saying: "your 4runner has just arrived"...its really is worth the wait though. A very capable vehicle right out of the box.

Ha. I guess it was love. We grew up here and came back to be near family after living in LA for a decade. We were all over the deserts and mountains out there in our Jeeps. There's no camping and offloading like there is in the West.

Lifted the front end today with a set of Toytec Baja Spacers. Toyota dealer performed the install and they verified with Toyota National that is will not void warranty. It's spec'd as a 1" inch spacer. It basically achieves the TRD Pro prototype appearance. I'll post picks sometime this weekend.

Would love to see pics of the lift. Was thinking of doing the same thing

Interested as well. Can you PM me what Toyota charged you to install? Thanks.

Also, came across this truck on Instagram. Lifted on 315 wide Trail Grapplers. Trying to get some info to see what he did.

This is the only part that part that Toytec makes but originally for another truck in the Toyota Lineup Part Number BAJA1-B
