4runner TRD Pro

Yea I am getting it from Truro Toyota. I currently have a 2015 sr5, I bought it because i wanted to lift it without having to deal with the trail suspension and the cost.

I went in Halifax where i bought my 2015 4runner but getting a better deal in Truro. I cant wait to get it but it drives me nuts that there is nothing really out about the Canadian TRD PRO. I believe pretty much the same as US model but has a sunroof and not sure if it has the tray in the rear but prob not.

I know when I bought mine the city dealers irritated me, they made lots of false claims and when it came down to me signing a deal their lies came to light. I got my 2016 Trail for 5% over invoice from Truro Toyota. Which I felt was a very good deal.

I don't think the sliding cargo tray is an option in Canada, my 16 doesn't have it, and no where was it an option that I could see.

Picked up 2017 TRD Pro White on Friday after a bit of a wait. On the way home from dealership noticed a noise in the rear driver side wheel well. After looking at it appears that rear shock is almost touching the frame. Compared it to rear passenger side and there is significantly more space. Taking it back to dealer next week to take a look. Anyone have similar issues with the TRD Pro?

Also, any recommendations on OEM running boards/step bars?

Overall very pleased as I upgraded from a 08 Limited. Well worth the wait.

I have the exact issue. I'm taking it in on Wednesday to get it looked at.

Did you put down a deposit? Did they tell you they allocated one for you?
Don't rely on VIN #'s, i was given one, then was provided a new one. Total wait time was like 3-4months. If you put down the deposit and they told you they allocated one for you, then just have some patience. You can also confirm with Toyota of America, they will help you with the dealer.

Finally flew out to pick up the Runner. Was a long haul back to SoCal from Texas. I know it isn't the most ideal way to break in the engine, but didn't have much choice. Picked it up with 4 miles on the odometer and ended the trip home at 1,655. Glad to have it home and looking forward to future mods.

I know there is a 4Runner meetup in San Diego February 11th (check out @Teambattle4_toyota for details. I hope to make it and get some advice and check out other mods. If you're around Long Beach and want to take a look at mine let me know. If you want specific pics I can post those too. I can confirm that the Cement does have slight metallic when you are up close, but hard to get a good shot. I will try again and post later.

Aloha all and good luck out there!

I will be driving back from Utah.

Not too bad. I drove through the night and was below 40 degrees so not many bugs. Problem was the dead deer in West Texas on Interstate 10. There was one fresh one that I barely missed. Overall I am surprised at how clean the truck is after that drive.

You got it! Nice man - looks great. That dive was ruthless right? I think I'm doing the $700 transport back to LA instead of flying and driving. It almost equals the same cost with plane ticket, food, hotel, and gas right?

Would you do it again or just ship it?

D

Finally saw a cement on the road and it is now in my sights.... now must convince the wife to get it instead of a Highlander.

I have done quite a bit of research to locate one in socal and obviously it's not gonna happen...

I had to pick it up for several reasons, otherwise I would have shipped. With shipping you can manage the break in period better than having to jam back. I still don't regret it but I had no other choice.

Congrats truly...I remember that day...

Is anyone putting a 3M style clear bra on the front of their new TRD Pro's? The only other car I ever bought brand new was a 07 FJ Cruiser and I regret not putting 3M on the entire front end. My hood, exterior A-Pillars and windshield looked like the surface of Mars when I traded it in. The newer 5th Gen's have a similar "boxy" front end and I would anticipate similar damage long term to the paint.

P.S. Still waiting for the phone call from the dealership. They told me it would be sometime at the end of the month.

From what I read you want xpel paint protection film, 3m apparently yellows over time whereas this expel stuff stays clear.
