With the obvious track for the second row and the trim on the D pillars...anything else that would affect the installation?

first thing i noticed with my 2017 TRD pro was how low the running voltage was. I think i was at 13.2v idle, and 13.8 while on the highway.
at 13.6v and 14.2-14.4 respectively now. Which makes it easier to keep it charged.
Drove my trdpro home from georgia to NY, think i got home and OEM battery was only 50% charged after the 1000+ mile trip.
Running a odyssey 31m battery now.

I ended up selling my cement yesterday and picked up an SR5 in silver. It was a no brainer for me. I got almost $6k back in my pocket. We needed the flexibility of a 3rd row and the wife is happy now. We saw a highlander in the showroom and I must admit, it is nice inside compared to the 4Runner. It's not even close. But the wife understood that I'll be the primary driver of the 3rd row vehicle, so she said it was ultimately my choice.
If you really need the 3rd row, get it done right. Meaning, don't try and add it to your Pro. I think it's just more than the sliding/folding second row, tracks, etc....you get seatbelts back there for passengers, car seats and the curtain airbag, I believe. Just my opinion. I couldn't even fathom putting my kids back there in any unsafe conditions.
At the end of the day, that's what matters most. Don't hate the SR5...it's only cosmetic stuff and the wife is letting me turn mine into an "SR5 Pro." The limited, yea whole different story. I hate that look for sure.

Actually I think the curtain airbags go all the way back to d pillars. Plus, if I go with the sr5 I'm adding the performance of the pro. Seatbelt mounts are already in the d pillars for the 3rd row.
I refuse to buy a highlander...not a crossover fan. The least amount of gas mileage the better.

Picked mine up on Thursday - first 4Runner for me after 12 years of driving Jeep as my 'outdoor' vehicle.
What a great truck - couldn't be more happy. It was between the Pro or a Wrangler Rubicon Recon and after driving 520 miles in my new truck I am glad I went with the 4Runner.
July 15 deposit, July 28 truck leaves factory in Japan and goes on ship, August 25 arrival at US port, September 06 arrives at dealership, September 07 pick-up!

If that is all you see from your battery with the engine is running, or even the max voltage of a surface charge after turning off the truck... that expensive AGM battery will suffer from a slow but certain death if you don't get it higher charge voltages.
The health will slowly degrade, but won't be obvious, but it will happen.
I recommend a charger/maintainer like this... at home over the weekends or something would be a good time to do a little battery maintenance.

It comes with a little quick disconnect on it to make connection super easy / quick. It really is no trouble at all if you park in a garage.

I have this guy to keep it maintained, its a little big but not a big deal. I like the WiFi option to keep an eye on the battery status from in the house on the Battery Tender app and I like the fact it has an AGM setting. I have a retractable cord from my garage to my driveway so its a quick connect.

Wow - that's a long time at port. Mine hit port on Aug 25 and arrived at the dealership on Sep 06.
That's what I thought as well. Oh well, hopefully just another week. Congrats on the quick turnaround for yours!

So I email the inventory manager at the dealership I ordered from to check the status again.
He responds with: "Still due to arrive at the port on the 29th puts it here on around the 4th of November".
So I respond back: "Once it arrives at port doesn’t it take a couple weeks to add the TRD Pro stuff"? "No VIN yet"?
Then his response is: "No once it arrives at the port all they have to do is make sure it passes safety inspection since they aren't adding any accessories to it. These are manufactured in Japan so nothing gets added at the port".
^^His last response is what's confusing me. Goes to show you the people at the dealership don't know what's going on. Which makes sense, cause I remember when I went to order, this same guy mentioned the 2017's TRDP colors but called the cement color, concrete, lol.
So looks like my 4 runner will be here in November...hopefully. :faint:
