4Th Gen Chat Thread

thats for sure. we both agreed nothing over $8000 total. Which is fair. We found an awesome barn and farm to have ours on. Very "us" and well priced.

meanwhile t4r is at paintshop lol. Mods will never stop, just have to get creative with excuses.

You, my young grasshoppa, are learning.. :peace:

Congratulations man!!!!

Gentlemen, Reminder... Remember to let your "soon-to-be wives", that the 4Runner comes first LOL ... Okay maybe a close 2nd..

Thanks!

Ha! I have to save my cash for my modding already!

Yea...We're trying our best to keep it under $6K, but it seems like that's impossible these days!

On a side note...

I hate MINI Coopers!! My fiance wanted one and I tried to talk her out of it. We ended up trading her Corolla in on a 2011 Cooper S. We've had it for about 6 months now and the high pressure fuel pump seems like its going out. It's an apparent problem on the Mini's. And from the looks of it, it has to be replaced about every 30-40K miles! WTF Mini!! Anyway, it's about a $1200 deal from the dealer, but I'm going to tackle it myself. End Rant!

Just another reason I love my 4Runner!

I understand. I don't like how the "side slide" model looks either. The ipad-mini, I think would be better integrated in the area below the HVAC controls. I can see annulling the cupholders (just use the door cupholders) and the "click out cubby storage thingie". Trying to integrate it to the radio area would be crazy strange b/c the ipad-mini is still too big to cover the radio (because it covers part of the HVAC display).

I would love to have fabrication skills. I have an digital inclinometer I still don't know where to install.

Keep us updated on your idea.

Yeah it would for sure fit better down there, Im just not sure I want to give up my cup holders and little storage thing as I use both of them regularly. I still might try in front of the radio, if I can figure out a way to make it look clean. The ipad mini is the perfect width, just need to figure out the height.

And Ill make a thread on it if I decide to go through with it.

Yes my mom had one, last of the supercharged ones, and it was a street legal go kart and a blast. My brother now works for the largest dealer in the country in Texas and he said he would never get one as the maint and how they are put together is ridiculous. Lastly most components on them are notorious to go out around warranty time and again at 100k.. . . . but hey I did love Italian Job :driving:

Doesn't surprise me on the fuel pump given that BMW went through the same thing.. and YES!!! on the Italian Job... :biggrin2:

Oh yea! They are awesome and fun to drive, but I can't believe the maintenance on them! My brother is a mechanic and he told me not to let her buy it, but I've learned you can't say no to a woman!! I can swap out the pump, that's not the problem. The problem is that I'll replace it now, but in another couple years I'll be doing it again!

Yeah I think at that point in time you swap out the pump. . .along with the entire vehicle. Time for another runner? :flamethrwoer2:

DFW something else. although when tested i cant seem to ditch the 4runner. damn things got a hold on me.

I sure as hell hope so! I'm trying to get her to trade it in on another Toyota. She wants something more "Gas Saving" than a 4Runner though.

Replacing what bulbs? D2S? I'm still on my first pair from 8 or 9 years ago on my Acura retro, and I have a brand new set sitting in a box for my 4Runner d2s headlights... not worried about replacing bulbs... I have a spare never used set anyway just in case. Never touched them in 8 years

Nice!
I've replaced a couple of the stock bulbs now, but I keep my lights on all the time...Not that people can't see me coming or anything. :D
