Care to elaborate, been thinking on getting one.

best explanation is its a universal speedometer fix. You hardwire it in and can program it to your adjustments of choice. So if you ever swap to bigger/smaller tires you can reprogram.

Everything looks stock still because its all hidden.

I just dont like the scan gauge because its ugly, its another thing to look at, another thing to mess up. I have perfectly fine gauges from Toyota. Making them work to my modification and look clean like OEM is a HUGE thing for me. Scan Gauge was something i always thought of as tacky.

Thought there was something I should be aware of as it might blow out other components on our ride.

I love mine. It can tell how many cents you spend per trip. It can give you accurate distance to empty readings after bigger tires. You can read codes and clear check engine lights with it. You can monitor pretty much any reading from any sensor in your vehicle. I've got em in my Corvette, Lexus, and now 4runner.

Hey do any of you guys have issues with the rear hatch staying up in the cold/extreme cold weather? I've been noticing this winter the rear hatch not staying up as well and falling sometimes. At first i thought it was due to the Gobi ladder but i've had that on for almost a year now and didn't have these issues at all before.

I have noticed a huge increase in assisted lift since the cold weather, and then when it warms up around 60 plus, the shocks have no problem. So I would affiliate it to the temperature, I also say that because I thought about looking into replacements OEM's. . . then I lost my credit card with how much they wanted for a set of hatch struts. . .so I think aftermarket is the way to go when the time comes.

Winter is hell on struts. Especially if they're worn a bit. my guess is the extra ladder weight combined cold Temps are the cause. Gas struts are more prone to failure in very cold temps. I'd wager that once the weather warms up again they'll work just fine. if the temps drop below 15 F I usually have to help the hatch a bit but it usually still holds at the top. I also don't have the added weight of a ladder though. Just the nature of gas struts and cold weather....

Great guys thanks for the feed back. I will see how they are after it start to warm up a little bit and if there still having problems then i'll order a set of tho ones you posted above. It's definitely been annoying though in the extreme cold having to load and un load the back while the hatch won't stay up.

Think I've decided the route I want to go with my T4R. Hopefully I can build a build thread this weekend and then actually do a little 4runner building next month...
