Hi! Just got a new to me, 2007 4Runner SR5. I've been weighing my options on a 2-2.5" lift and I've decided the Bilstein 5100's all around are the way to go for my budget.

Where I'm getting conflicting info on this subject is what I need to get exactly.

I believe my '07 has a shock and spring suspension system if I'm right? If not, I don't mind removing the struts.

I also would like to level it while I'm at it, so I was thinking a daystar leveling kit. Like a 1.5" in the front a 1" in the rear.

Would all this information line up, and would this work? Also would the stock springs be okay to keep or should I get OME, if so what size should I be looking for?

The 5100s are adjustable height in the front, so you would not need the spacer to level the nose. I just bought the 5100s myself and am putting them on this afternoon with a buddy. I set them to the 3rd highest setting to get a total of 1.75" of lift in the front--it seems to be the consensus to level the front end.

Icon Lift

I noticed Icon now has a "Stage 8" lift kit. It's the same as their stage 7 one (CDCV adjustable shocks) but has their Omega rear shocks, which are a new option for the 4th gen. The Omegas are (from what I can tell) similar to the CDCV but has adjustable compression and rebound damping. Although the product page doesn't specify, I wonder if these have "clockable" fittings for the remote reservoir, I saw an old Icon video demonstrating Omega bypass shocks and they had that feature.

Of course, I recently bought a stage 7 kit on Black Friday too. I don't think the extra benefit would be worth the cost to upgrade from CDCV to Omega here. Any suggestions for me? (I haven't installed the stage 7 yet).

I just picked up some TRD pro wheels and 265/70-17 BFG KO2s. According to the chart I only need 1"-2" up front to clear these.

Seems the Bilstein 5100 are common. However, what lift am I looking at to level it out and raise a bit?

OME 885 springs look like 2-2.5" of lift for a v8. Which shock setting do I go with on the 5100s then? 895e on the rear for 1" it looks like.

Does anyone sell this setup with the front assembled already? Looks like assembled setups are all the same brand shocks and springs. My head explodes every time I try to figure this out.

Bilstein 5100 Shocks
• Lift settings are 0”, .85”, 1.75”, and 2.5”


OME (Old Man EMU, not to be confused with stock, OEM)
• OME offers different coil options for v6/v8 4runners and also for those at stock or with added weight.
• Provide lift by using more wraps of coils and higher spring rate
- Higher spring rate = stiffer ride
• Front coils-should provide 2.5”-3” lift for listed application
- 883-Good for leveling the front with stock rear-approx 1.5" lift
- 884-For use on stock weight v6
- 885-For use on stock weigh v8, or v6 with added weight
- 886-For use on v8 with added weight
- Front coils often combined with ¼” thick spacer for a full 3” lift
• Rear coils
- 895e-stock weight, 1” lift
- 895-stock weight, 2” lift, over 40% stiffer than stock
- 896-weight added, 2” lift

just ordered a set of icon standard travel 2.5 coilovers! Picking them up tomorrow and hopefully installing them tomorrow.

to avoid extra costs for shipping and customs I hope to purchase a 2.5 inch lift kit, and a set of TRD wheels if I can find a company who could ship both to NYC.

but.. finding a proper kit.. @$1000-1200 is like asking for it..

Id need some help in this.. a set of coilovers..
but would/ do I need a UCA?
as for the wheels, found a set on ebay, no response yet..
anybody able to help me look in the right direction..

ok can anyone tell me FOR SURE if the stock front and rear shocks from a 2019 4runner Off Road will directly bolt into a 2005 SR5??? Trying to get some new suspension on the cheap and Ive read this could be a good way to go. But I'm getting conflicting info from different groups!!!! help!!!!!

I did the BMC and trimmed as much inner fender as I can, but now I rub on this pinch seam. What’s going to happen if I grind this off?

Price the TRD wheels around. Ebay seemed to be more expensive when factoring shipping than some other places like toyota stores.

Bit of an thing to look up any toyota stores..

Dude, you are asking the same basic question over and over. It's been answered a few time already. Yes they will fit. But it's recommended that you get new springs instead of using the old, stock ones.

I'm still trying to figure out whats going on with rear suspension. Dirver side is sagging.

I have been looking into leveling it prehaps but from what I see the leveling kit is for the front to bring it up to match the rear.. Thing is my front is way higher then my rear. Is there a reason for that that I'm not seeing?

Ill try post some pics tomorrow if I remember.

I'm gonna try measure the ride height also.

I just installed bilstein 4600 front and rear. Kyb strut mounts, stock springs. Car has 87k had everything original.

I will try snap some pics tomorrow.

The truck was even and sitting low before. The strut and shocks were very worn. I took one of the old struts and a shock and compressed them. They got stuck and wont come back apart! I should still have the pics of it from before. I will check.
