Has anyone tried or looked into this:

2010 is not available yet

Little pricey. Doesn't give you more ponys, but better throttle response.

This product may do the trick but I would not lay out $300+ to find out. By the explanation of how it works it looks like it would affect the throttle response, which is the problem. This will not add any power.

I equate this to the guys who can feel the difference of replacing an air filter. I just don't see the numbers adding up.

Now I haven't driven both generations, but it sounds more like you were simply used to driving one way on one vehicle. Now have to learn a different way, in relation to pedal travel and engine response. The power is still there, its just applied (not sure what word to use here) differently. In my eyes, that seat of the pants feel doesn't add any value.

I tried to find a dyno sheet of stock 4th and 5th Gens but didn't come up with anything. Wouldn't that be the best way to see where the Hp and Tq appear in the RPM range and give a best comparison?

Not so much a learning by the driver but a familiarity. Remember that both V6's have there own ongoing ECU learning feature for throttle and tranny shift points depending on how they are driven. Pull the fuse to reset the ECU on your current truck and see how it behaves differently at baseline until it "learns" your driving style.

Having driven both versions of these V6's on a daily basis for the last 6 years ,this dual vvt-i version is definitely a step up! As said, after break-in and it learns your driving style it keeps getting better and better. There used to be a tranny lag when I first got it between 1st and 2nd and it's all but gone at 23k miles now.

The torque curve peaks a little higher up in this latest design to get better gas mileage but you can stay in the power band if you want to by using the S mode shifter on race day.

You can even use the S mode, to hold it in 4th gear or whatever gear you want while cruise control is on ,going thru the mountains so it doesn't keep shifting between 4th and 5th.
