4x Innovations Rear Bumper with Swing out PICS?

Truly love mine!! The only thing I have issues is that with this configuration the jack has to be put on upside down or else it will contact the hatch. Not a big deal, I just like to keep weight as low as possible. I also plan to move the tire position up and slant it in a little for better clearance. Other than that this bumper is a god darn BRUTE and can take a beating. I made the mistake to not get new body mounts so atm the bumper has some bouncing action when i smack it:girl: I got some body damage on the passenger side as you can see in the first picture, though minimul it drives me insane. With and high clearance rear swing out I recommend replacing those because frame flex is REAL!

Can you add the tire swing out on later if you order just the bumper now?

Yes. You would have to have them install the hinge and latch

Yes. It will require welding the hinge and latch to the bumper though.

I can't say enough about the quality of these bumpers. Absolutely awesome! My father in law painted them and the joints were so well finished all he had to do was prime and paint. No filler at all. Outstanding quality!

4xInnovations vs Shrockworks Rear Swingout
I am looking to get both the front and back bumpers from 4xInnovations. However, I am also considering the swing out rear bumper from shrockworks because it uses a different latching system that looks like it is better at preventing any knocking and keeping the swingout more secure. Has anyone had any issues with their 4xInnovations rear swingout making noise or annoying "bangs" while going off-road?

Give me a few weeks, and with any luck I will. I am rolling Brazilian and have a 4X rear swing out on the way. You might be talking about the front bumper though. If that's the case, maybe someone else can chime in.

Mines solid. Just make sure you use all the mounting holes, including the one you have to drill the frame for. I skipped that one at first and I had a squeak. After I drilled it and put the last bolt in it has been totally silent.

I have both front and back 4x bumpers, I blasted them and had them hot dipped galvanized. will paint them at some point but for now they are protected.

I did mod the back one to have a 20 deg angle, just like that look. I also added a flip down table to mine.

I did a 3000 mile road trip to moab, and the san juans. very solid bumper no issues what so ever with it.
I did have to replace the rear body mounts when I first got it because it had some clearance issues. turns out my 17 year old body mounts had compressed 1/2" so once I took care of that no issues.

As you can see I'm the OP for this thread so I've had the rear bumper for almost 3 years. The latching mechanism is rock solid and there is absolutely no sign of wear. It is as tight as the day I installed it.

Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for! Another option I was considering was the ability to remove the bumper. Usually I go out about twice a month, and this car is my daily driver, so I would like the ability to remove the swingout portion when I get home and reinstall it when I go out. Is that something that anyone else has done? Could that negatively affect the hinge mechanism?

I'm not 100% sure on if it is wise to constantly take off and put back on. You would have to ask Adam at 4x Innovations.

Why not just remove the tire, hi-jack and whatever else you carry on the swingout? I bet after doing that a few times you just leave them on though. lol

Guess what just showed up.
I got the jerry can holder and hardware yesterday. The main bumper just got delivered. Now I am waiting on the swing out and 861s to show up today.
Has anyone used POR-15 on theirs and sealed up the POR-15 treatment with a paint top coat to protect the POR-15 finish from UV rays? I like the idea if the POR-15. It looks straightforward enough as ling as you prep the surfaces for a good application. I just don't hear many talk about it on here.
