I see it's time for the hurt feelings report again....

Fill it out, send it in, we'll get back to you...

David

No actually you would need to know how to write and comprehend to fill out that report. None of those traits are visible in this thread.

Sorry but I forgot to mention that I did need to thread the barrel in order to install a recoil enhancer.

Carry on. :whipping2

...and then fight...and then make up? Thats stupid

I kid! I kid!

Who is ready for some camping weather? Do we have to wait until the Cove to get together again this year?

You guys enjoy your camping. I went on a 14 mile trail ride Saturday. My first in WV this year. I live 4 1/2 hours south of you if you ever want to come down and ride.

I will absolutely take you up on that sometime! Will my GF Rig with standard gears keep up? You've re-geared yours haven't you?

Lol I am riding a single speed mostly now! Trek 29'er with Fox front suspension, rigid rear. I am also 51 years old. Can you keep up? I would think so. This is what I am adding this spring:

But you don't get enough real snow in WV to use that bike? Come to Colorado to get full enjoyment from it. I'm currently plotting my annual spring trip to WNC for blissful spring mountain biking.

Dude, seriously you are a stud riding a single speed at 51, my knees said to stop several years ago and I'm 38.

I just wish I could drive my 4Runner out for my trips to NC.

You don't need snow...or trails lol. We have some really rough washed out trails and creek banks that bike will handle perfectly. Speed is a non issue anymore but fun is still at the top of the list!

I'm still trying to figure out why you punish yourself with no rear suspension on top of the single speed… I remember when I was in my early 20's mtn biking and someone telling me it was all downhill at 30 and I wouldn't enjoy riding trails. Now I'm 38 and think that dude was a pretty poor mtn biker as I still hammer up and down the trails. I have no problem using the amazing technology that has developed for shocks in the last decade for the bike to give me an edge though.

If only I understood car suspension tech as well as mountain bikes...

I get pleasure out of simplicity. Now, If I am going to be riding at a place where I am going to slog up long slow climbs of course I take my geared bike. The single speed is for the regular rides. I don't do any big hits anymore so hardtail is fine. Hey, one of these days I'm sure I will get another FS. I have had several in the past and they are fine. I ride with some guys that are running rigid with only a carbon fiber front fork for a little extra give...and they are single speed too! Talk about simplicity! Sometimes I wish I could find one with a coaster brake lol.

Anyway the Fat Tire will give me around 80 mm of front and rear suspension as the tires only run 7 psi or so. The tires have 100 mm of sidewall! To some it is punishment but to me it is just fun.

Yeah I remember you having the same SS as me but I couldn't remember if you were still running the stock gears or not. I am - I've only changed out the EBB to try and fix the death creak.

I am in the same boat as you as loving simplicity. Its also really nice when you're by yourself out enjoying mother nature and are doing so in almost complete silence! No derailleur noise or chain clinking sounds!

This is not to side with any political side or start a debate.

I just thought it was funny, so I'm sharing..

The Blonde Pilot..

This is the story of the blonde flying in a two-seater airplane with just the pilot.
He has a heart attack and dies.
She, frantic, calls out a May Day."May Day! May Day! Help me! Help me!
My pilot had a heart attack and is dead. And I don't know how to fly.
Help me! Please help me!"
She hears a voice over the radio saying:
"This is Air Traffic Control and I have you loud and clear.
I will talk you through this and get you back on the ground.
I've had a lot of experience with this kind of problem.'
Now, just take a deep breath.
Everything will be fine!
Now give me your height and position.
"She says, "I'm 5'4" and I support Obama."
"O.K." says the voice on the radio....
"Repeat after me: Our Father. Who art in Heaven. ... . ..."

Haha that's funny.. I do some Project management at my job, makes me sad :( lol

Yeah Definitely pretty funny, that is why I never try to act like I know how to do any of my engineers job.(not my Job) I am a PM, there is a reason I am not an engineer. Over my head most times
